  1. Hi all, I'd like a large electric chainsaw for ringing up timber for firewood, either run from the mains or a generator. I have big powerful petrol ones and my yard is fairly remote but I'd like to have a quieter saw just to be courteous to the rest of the village especially when sawing for several hours. Does such a tool exist, roughly ms440 size would be ideal. Thanks

  2. if you use facebook theres a group on there called modified majors with some real anoraks who love giving advice and can help source parts for conversions, if you dont have facebook id recommend signing up just to join the group

edit. there hundreds of pictures of other peoples conversions on the and the cargo engine is one the favorites to use

  3. Better copy here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lz5sRR4-VQ

It looks like E Beaver and Sons of Kempshott are still trading. The attitudes have gone full circle, the narrator in the film says the word "scrub" when decribing coppice in the same way that many conservationists now say the words "softwood" or "conifer" :001_huh:

i love old archive film especially farming, ive never come across that video before so thanks for sharing it, i found it very interesting:thumbup:

  4. Will the loader reach high enough to tip chip into a 30yard role of role off skip Jon as that's what collects my chip?

On the look out for something for the yard and to do odd runs out to collect timber off jobs as well as some winching work on some of the more technical estate forestry style jobs we get to do.

Driven a MF 390 lots as a skidder and like the simplicity of these older tractors and with decent ground clearance.

Mr git, you may need a toe tip bucket to tip that high

  5. the best conversion i have seen is a 3 door disco 1 with a home made truck cab with a 130 hi cap body on the back,it looked very professional, so good i thought it was a concept/prototype until a had a really good look
