  1. Watching this thread can't understand why saws are disassembled so much local guy near me bought an inspection camera in aldi two years ago.Anyone who brings in a saw with low compression he takes out spark plug inserts camera and shows the customer damage on cylinder and outlines possible cost. He reckons it has saved him countless hours ripping saws.
  2. Hi Dave I will have a look for it at the weekend just got internet back after that strong breeze yesterday.
  3. Don't worry about using it if your not worried about the vibes these things are indestructible have two which still can do a days work running 36 inch bars.Torque is amazing also have a workshop manual somewhere that I could copy and send to you.
  4. There should be a clip on top of the exhaust next to the cylinder that the top cover hooks into. Looks like someone changed exhaust for one off a 070 Google images will show what I mean .
  5. I would recommend a Gianni Ferrari turbo 4 I have used one for nearly 8 years virtually indestructible should be able to pick up a good secondhand one at this stage if they are as popular in England as over here in Ireland.
  6. Hi all just an update picked up saw yesterday without doing anything 3 pulls and it started and it is running sweet as a nut.
  7. Carb kit is right one the saw was running perfectly last year only petrol was running back to fuel tank so i decided to treat it to a little tlc,as it was taking a good few pulls to get it going again after standing more than a couple of days.
  8. Have checked that as i got caught a few years ago with an 051
  9. Hi all I am rebuilding a 050 at the moment refitted carb after cleaning and fitting new diaphragms and new fuel lines.Started saw and cannot get it to run properly it bogs down when given throttle or with minor adjustment sometimes revs about a third of the way and returns to idle.Any suggestions welcome.
  10. Hi all again checked ht lead this morning and rubber cover and connector onto plug came off end of ht lead when I gave it a small pull also where it fits onto plug was very loose.Replaced this and used saw for a good while and seems spot on should have' tried most obvious first .Thanks to everyone for all their suggestions.
  11. Thanks for that was looking on e bay for ignition coils and some state coil fits several models including ms390 is this the case as I have a scrapped 390 .
  12. Ok so I went using saw again today and it cut out 4 times in about 5 minutes.I have rechecked coil gap and all wiring getting a bit frustrated now so any suggestions welcome.
  13. Just wondering has anyone got one of these in the west of Ireland best thing since the wheel in my opinion.
  14. Hi Jon I have that done usually run a 20 inch bar just on a 24 it seems poor, I have cleaned the tank and run paraffin oil through it.
  15. Hi all removed carburettor and put it in my brothers ultrasonic cleaner reassembled and have used nearly a tank of petrol so far so good.Saw also seems a lot easier to start .As an aside chain oil delivery always seems poor enough on this saw when using a 24 inch bar is this normal.
