    The crane company have said they will format it and check all the vital information is there. After all they'll be in the shit if it isn't present and correct. I've just joined the AA so i'll have a look through their templates.

    Evening all, We are carrying out some work next week using a crane. Rather than a contract lift, we are going down the CPA hire route. Basically this will save the customer the best part of £1100, all we need to do is make sure our hired-in insurance covers the cost of the crane (which it does) and provide the risk assessments and method statements. I was wondering if anyone has access to a template for these, and if so, would they mind sharing them with me? Obviously I'd change all relevant details relating to the specifics. TIA

    Apologies that it is such late notice - but I require a climber for tomorrow to help undertake an ash dismantle. Must have own equipment, top handle, ground saw, climbing equipment etc. Call 07891338067 or PM me if interested. Cheers

    All your advice has been great and I've taken a lot of it on board. What I'm going to suggest to the client is to deadwood the tree, and like Joe Newton suggested take the extension growth back into shape - I can do that comfortably without ruining the look of the tree.     Riggerbear I need to check with the authorities to check first. Reason is just for aesthetics, this also a bit of deadwood within the crown that needs taking out as its next to a sportsfield with people walking underneath it regularly. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app

    I've recently been to quote for a job to reduce the crown of a lovely looking copper beech. I've not done a crown reduction before but I'd say 15-20% should be sufficient for this job and go back in a few years to maintain. Couple of questions - are there specific times of year to prune copper beeches, and does anyone have any helpful tips for crown reductions? Also how much would you charge for a job like this?
