  1. We had a fair few badger setts in a ring fort, despite our best efforts all have been dug out ..... So no badgers at all this season, . Farm is crawling with hedgehogs.... Great to see them around again.... But I love the Badgers tool.....

  2. Honey Brothers is the closest arb supplier to Merrist Wood. They are expensive but if you go in you will be able to look around and get an idea of what fits etc. Get the product codes and price then phone up others or google search.

With regards to using second hand, I wouldn't!!! You never know how old the helmets are or if they have been dropped. Trousers will have been worn day in day out and are like a sleeping bag around your legs!

It will cost a bit to get all new but worth it. Also speak to the college before buying, they usually set up a couple of trade days at the college for students to buy.

By the way good luck with the course

    Bit rude imo.....

  3. Anyone know anything of putting 6cyl cummins in a defender? Know it's quite a heavy lump but reliable and I thought it would be good for lots of towing etc, any knowledge/thoughts/ input apprecited😀

Don't go there... Noisy heavy eats axels and gearboxes, not to mention powersteering ... Drove two...... Great ptorque but....

  4. Fraid you'll have to send it back.... God! Landrovers!!!!!! Love em but seriously...... I carry 20 l diesel 2 l oil(gear) 1 hardy Spicer compressor, 1 main on off lights, 1 dip dim, and all fuses..... Plus full selection of relays...... My buddy has a 92 Amazon vx carries nothing!

Project in pipeline; 130 Galv chassis, ready to fit 4.2 Amazon engine and auto box..... Late on axels also!

  5. See what you mean - I never use inserts that have a top collar on them, I grind them down so they are the exact length of the existing hole and use a high temperatere permanent threadlock compound and would warranty my repairs for life of the machine!

My advice is to fit a full length threaded insert or purchase an oversize one and grind to size and use a decent threadlock as above. If that doesnt work then I may be able to try a larger insert but would need the cylinder. As you probably know, having the insert is just one part of the story. Doing the machining work and having the correct tools is the other!

Well wurth are a waste of space, 2 weeks plus customs..... No thanks! Flea bay £3.85. For 8 MM Ezlok Carbon with thread lock.... I'll have 5! Will keep you posted....

  6. Folks, a small problem could you give me a pointer please? I've just installed a new indicator stalk, if the stalk isn't in its right place the main headlights go out! Put the indicator on, sometimes they go out again... Any thoughts and thanks in advance

New or new to you? If it cost 14 to 28 quid on eBay it's a crap switch..... Lucas only.... Anything else is a waste of money....

Three defenders on the road... Lesson learned..... Go buy a Lucas switch.... Probably not what you wanted to hear.....

  7. Any time I face into ivy I use at least a buff and bug eyes goggle, ivy is toxic make no mistake about it if you own stock then you will be aware.... If I'm on a job with a lot of ivy I'll use a full face separate filter system... Nasty and potentially lethal do not underestimate ivy....
