Spike it, knock it down to the lowest pollard points pal.
If that low is a no go, nice sharp spikes and the (visible) damage should be minimal

Sometimes it's best to do as they say. WITHIN REASON. Quick wash and go imo as a gesture of good will, never put a cover on a car as that may cause problems with alleged "damage" etc. Shame that this world has become such a place with a need for constant arse covering.
We have had it in the past, we were working contracting in Manchester, cones put out the night before so we could crown lift a large beech, one tosser with an a6 and the park and ride....
Sawdust, alleged damage. Chips away quotes etc etc

Go for it! Hitch climber to Zig Zag is a good progression. The zig zag has very similar characteristics to the HC set up,
I've loved the hitch climber, great for branch walk returns - tending one handed etc. Paired with an eye to eye on my bridge for long ascents. It just keeps locking up. I know it's the hitch, but I've tried messing around with knots etc but I found too much sit back on certain hitches as I use an 85cm cord. Plus I wanted to get a swivel soon so may get the zigzag after working a Saturday later in the month!
Had a quick look at the setup in buxtons the other morning. I don't believe you can get cord to be as smooth due to the natural friction.
Any probs with the mk3 cropped up yet?

Hi all I currently use a hitchclimber.
11.5 sterling scion with 8mm cord tied into distel. It is good but it's being a pain alot locking up and I have to readjust the wraps. I'm thinking of a zigzag. What you think?

Pay a climber to shoot up and get it, that rope alone will cost at least 70 quid.
Don't be daft trying to climb, oaks are a bastard to climb too imo, limbs far apart etc. You can't put money on safety.

Here's some pics showing the difference between the MSA ear defenders and the Peltor ones and the amount of clearance between them and the Petzl Vizor. The wire/spring part on the Peltor ones catch on the Vizor and as you say push the actual ear defender backwards.

Thanks that great. That's exactly what's happening. When I bring the visor down it doesn't go all the way, when I push it down full it moves the muff. Kind of annoying. Cheers

Hi all, I have a petzl vertex with the vizir fitted but when I put the visor fully down it breaks the seal on my right ear muff and let's all the noise in 😤 is there an adapter or spacer I need to buy? Thanks

I'm about 5,9 and I've got innovations. M and the fit is perfect. I've had them since Nov last year and the crotch has only just started to go. A hole about an inch diameter under the zip area. Apart from the left hand zip lasting a week, the odd spike wound at the bottom and a exhaust burn they are great.

I'd be looking at something like this

Thanks all for the advice, 👍

That's good. I'd probs just do a basic course just for the know how. Do they teach how to read the tides etc or is it pretty self explanatory? Boat wise ive seen a few decent ones for less than 2k, considering I go on 5 or 6 charter fishing trips a year at minimum £40 (plus travel costs) it'll soon earn it's money back

I'm looking to buy a 14-18ft dory to do some sea fishing with. Ideally this size due to being able to be tow rather than store at a marina. Just wondered if anyone owned any boat and could give me some pointers on the requirements ie insurance, operator ticket etc
Thanks

On my 39 it was branches up to 4 inch diameter. But then I have dismantled trees and gobbed down timber bigger than 380mm on a stem on a 31 ticket. Endless

Bought a Titan multi tool from Screwfix as they were the only place local that sold pole pruners. Paid £175 and it lasted about a minute, took it back and got a replacement, six days of solid cutting and it didn't miss a beat. Also comes with an extra extension bar and hedge cutter head, strimmer etc. Cheap crap you might say but it certainly paid for itself and with a years warranty it will see me through this autumns hedge cutting season and next springs. Even if i never use the other fittings its a great pole pruner.
Bought one of them in a similar situation 2 years ago; I abused it to hell and now my old dad uses it to do his garden. Only owed me a pull cord. Good machine for the price 👍

Stihl's online policy has done me a favour in saving me money! But it is a pain. Near me I have a farm/machinery shop (TFM) that i use all the time for machinery. The price is great, they make pence off each machine as they make the money off the farmers etc. To get anything else I have to travel to Buxtons. IMO if your on system with dealer, you should be exempt from Stihl's policy.

Hi all. Anybody know if it would be a bad idea to modify the roller area on a 190? The crap collects behind the springs and a pain to remove. I'm thinking of cutting the black frame and fitting 2 pieces of all thread to attach the bottom of the springs to. Hopefully then the crap will fall out underneath? Machine is done every Friday, but like today being a pain on ripping conny hedge out. All thread will go where the stick is in pic.
Thanks

Price I got was £200, and there is a slight lift up a wall about knee height which didn't bode well. Bit too much imo. All sorted now though thanks gents

Hi all does anyone know where I can hire a small chipper ( to get into rear garden ) without plant hire insurance? I've contacted orange and spectrum and they require plant hire insurance which is almost as much of the cost of the hire! Ideally in the Birmingham area. Hoping for a cs100 or could live with a tw75 or equivalent
Thanks
Ps, already looked at the "hire shops" was hoping for a better machine

Hi all, think the old beaners need a clean up, thinking of soaking in soapy water, do you have the gates wedged open or just close it all up ? Cheers
