  1. Hi all.

I'm toying with the idea of getting a wooden turned fountain pen. Seen a few online, but thought I'd see what people on here can make? Preferably in a pretty native wood - walnut perhaps? I'd like to see pics and prices for any that people have made. Can only cartridge fountain pens be made, or are the ones with a built in ink reservoir and suction device to fill it via the nib also possible?

    Many thanks.

I make fountain pen that can use both

  2. To be fair I think it would be straightforward to make as standard metric and most common pitch threads.

Maybe that could be a project for you when you have some spare time on your hands.Just take measurements of the collar size etc before you fit it, then run out a few and sell them on ebay if they are now discontinued. Not the most common part but as you've found out a pain in the rear when you want one..

As much as we rely on bar studs theoretically they are just a cross between a guide and a clamp.

Not as hard to find as the clutch cover that is hard to find but i manged after 1 month of looking one in the usa brand new in the sthil packaging so that was good

  3. Sounds like a half decent engineer could turn down a steel rod and tap it to make what you want - just need to make sure the thread pitch is correct - that is the bit on the end of the thread type i.e. M5 x 0.8 means each thread is 0.8mm apart and 5mm in diameter!

If the part is more complex...I will shut up:blushing::lol:

I am an engineer i am training to be a precision engineer and am about to start my apprenticeship but i don't want to risk making one and get it wrong and damage the saw as parts are so hard to get

Message him about the postage cost if your interested. Hes pretty could and will reduce it if he can.

Normally gets my stuff over here in a week.

Or look thru his other 056 stuff, he put a load of bolts in with some other stuff and didn't charge me the extra postage.

Thanks for that it cost $20.95 in the end and that the same as l&s wanted when they had them
