  1. Depends on what type of client and value of tender your looking for? There the government tender website, but also sign up to local authorities tender host websites and the HA tender websites. Where abouts are you based?
  2. I haven't read the above findings (sorry) but have they taken in to account the pollutes the absorb?
  3. Yep it does look like there from Holland, the passport number will Identify the nursery it come from, not sure how good the traceability actually is. I was at the plane wlit seminar at Ely a few weeks backs and what was concerning is that the plant health iinspectiors where sure what plane wlit looked like.
  4. Hi David Been a whole since I've been involved with passports, but I thought the passport number was issued to the nursery? (Might be wrong sorry) so the traceability for individual trees isn't always that great. Plant health website might help more or go back to the supplier as most plants need a passport number. Sorry if I'm wrong, it was 15 years ago when I was involved with the nursery world
  5. Yes, I replaced a number of plane trees which had this system. I uncovered the tensioner cable and just used bolt croppers to cut and pull the cable out, a few I released the tensioner. and any lose mash matting just pulls away easy. The 3 ground anchor cables I cut any lose off out of the way. though didn't pose to much of a problem. I did try grinding one stump with the cables in place and the cable just wrapped around the head. Don't think there a major problem just requires a little work to uncover the cables before you start.
  6. Sorry yes miss understand your original post. Glad the op has it sorted now

    PICUS cost

Hi all just wondering if any knows how much a new picus 3, with calliper cost? I tried Sorbus international but still waiting for them to get back to me Many thanks Tree
  10. Yep OS map would be a easy and cheap way
  11. Paulowina tomentosa maybe ?
  12. I agree it does look like woolly aphid. Even if you purchase insecticide for a garden centre, I think if you use them for commercial purpose you still need pa1/pa6. You can also buy commercial based soap products this to. They work on contact so you need to give the tree a good soaking.
  13. Very true, Think the fact the trees crown look in good health and no dead/decay was found on the buttress it may just be case of monitoring the tree. thanks for your help and advice tree.
  14. Hi Thanks for the help, not sure if I can get any more photos, the buttress was live no dead was found, but it could be possible as it was at ground level that there my be some dead material under the buttress may be? Just didn't want to walk away from this tree if it was something a little more concerning
  15. Hi all Found this on the buttress on a mature oak today, not to sure what it is, thought maze gill but not seen much in the past. As always any help is great thank you
  16. Hi all Can across this today not 100% Found it on the base of a sorbus. Through merpi maybe?
  17. Not seen a lot myself, but given the size of tree and size of split its possible.
  18. Hi Looks like you was right, the D8 has the height tracking, but the D5 didn't, but the newer model the D510 does have height tracking and my supplier has swap it and done me a good deal. The height tracking works very well, just trying to work out how to measure distance from the canopy to building now lol. Do you use a tripod with uses?? many thanks tree
  19. I was sold the d5 as it states suitable for trees and with having the camera it works outside. It takes 3 measurements but is hard to locate at the tree top. I looked at the d8 but was twice the price.

  21. OK, Well my leica is great for Crown spreads just doesn't pick up the top of the Crown to well. At the moment I end up using the laser for spead but still use my old school clinometer. Just hoping to combine in to 1 item of kit Thanks for the feedback
  22. As already stated, air spade is one option, and you could bio char, or indeed other various beneficial fungi and trace elements. I know ameg group (Acorn) in Redditch have experience with this, I've used them in the past and found them to offer a excellent service. Will be interested to know what you decide with this
