  1. Evening all I'm after some one who has a mini forwarder with low ground compaction like a alstor or tracked machine to extract about 50 tons of ash. I've attempted it with my valtra but ended up up to axels. As its a thinning operation it would take weeks extracting with a winch. The woodland is in Suffolk.

    Cheers Tom

  2. Boss had these put on the back of the fastrac recently done a fortnight with them on the mulcher so far alot better ride on road than ag pattern toothttp://www.atgtire.com/images/brochures/ALLIANCE-550-MULTIUSE-6-06-2011.pdfhe

I would think they would clog up fairly quickly. But in the righ conditions.

  3. No doubt that forestry tyres would be best, but they aren't as good if you do a lot of road work as they are cross ply rather than radial. If you are a tree surgeon you could afford to fit the best non forestry tyre (Kleber IMO), if you are full time in the woods then go for the real mccoy.

You can get radial forestry tyres apparently but if you have to ask the price you can't afford them.

I don't normally do any long road stints only really moving from woodland to woodland. I will look into the klebers IMO tho thanks

  4. Hi all I have a Valtra 6550 with a 560tl on the roof.

I currently have Michelin all round and as you all know brilliant agri tyres but rubbish in the woods due to there thin tyre wall.

Just after some advice on what I should look at getting next as mine are literally being held together with gators. Shall I bite the bullet with Nokka's or Alliance? Duno any advice is good advice

    cheers

  5. Mine gets a hard life, first time around I bought the phenolic ply, this time I put exterior quality ply sealed with a good paint, same job half the money.

I think that's the answer to be honest mate. what ever I put on will get a good lashing of paint

  6. If the towing vehicle is older then 2003 then you can use any trailer, if its newer then 2003 then a box trailer has to be used I failed my test first time round stupid things speeding, hesitation at a roundabout (I did argue this as it was a 18ft trailer behind a LR 130) but then passed in a Nissan Almera with a single axel trailer behind.

  7. Tom,

I might be tempted to move my full spec Farmi 260HFC on?

It's immaculate and done very little work, ideal for crane feed with the conveyor and foot pedal controls for infeed.
