  1. There is just no effective deterrent in the present criminal justice system. I've done several tree jobs for this lovely elderly couple over the years. Front page of Friday local paper, some scumbag has burgled them. http://edition.pagesuite-professional.co.uk/digitaleditions.aspx?tab=0&pid=46671691-92a9-4b81-9c56-08074e88b587# When a thief is caught they should be publicly thrashed to within a fraction of their miserable consciousness then painted blue (or any other colour, I don't have a particular preference) so that every one can see they are a thief and treat them as such.
  2. Fair rates there! Hope it comes back safe.
  3. Bad news Dan! Sounds like best bet will be tracking via spares ordering but I bet he will have sold it on by then to a third party. But if the third party buys it at a knock down / no questions asked price then they'll get what they deserve for buying (then losing) hooky gear. Fingers crossed for a speedy return! What sort of day / week rate were you hiring for if you don't mind my asking? I've got a cow shed that needs the floor out, was thinking about a crusher so as to reuse the rubble.
  4. Think of a number, then treble it for the "hassle factor" that's written all over it. For the price you could realistically put on it, I'd probably just gracefully decline.
  5. Agreed! And there needs to be a D7 exemption from EA https://www.gov.uk/waste-exemption-d7-burning-waste-in-the-open
  6. That's some SERIOUS kit! Mega impressed!!
  7. That's exactly where my logic was! Very nearly chopped LR in earlier this year for the DMax. It was like a car to drive, no need to shout, no leaks, no rattling, no headache, just a nice comfortable ride. Didn't do it in the end, I figured it had many "comfort" advantages (including a turning circle that would make a 110 blush) and the wife might actually like driving it, but it ain't a LR and that's all there is to it!
  8. Fair one, hope it didn't sound "picky", wasn't meant that way. I'm a bit OCD about kit!
  9. Isn't that something you (or your boss) should have noticed in your pre-use checks??
  10. Does your second man (rescue climber) work for free then?
  11. Telic 4/5 Al. Single role training & mentoring in the SE with monthly visits to MNSTC-I HQ.
  12. I spent quite a bit of time in the palace 04/05, previous owner wasn't at home at the time and there was some degree of "light redecoration" but the pool was still available!
  13. There's a ticket for ground use, there's a ticket for aerial use, perhaps there should be a ticket for clown in pub use??
  14. Agree it's good stuff Dan, I use it too. Only word of warning I'd add is not to use it close to any precious plants or ponds - it'll kill 'em in a flash!
  15. If you didn't laugh, you'd lay awake all night worrying - what's that Swarez bloke earning and not to forget his influential potential on youth, he has no place in a civilised society - and neither does the drug addled waster in this scenario. To hell with the civil liberties brigade, this idiot should have the skin flailed off his back on the village green / town high street. But until then, I guess the best we can hope for is a low kickback chain and a softwood bar top! I'll do a thread on that subject yourself & Jules helped with shortly. Didn't really get a conclusive answer so it'll be a summary & and open for comment / views! Thanks for your input Gaz.
  16. I've been looking at the avant on tinterweb since you mentioned it in skid steer thread. It's a fair chunk of cash but as the avant website seemed to claim, they hold good 2nd hand value. For that to be true this one on eBay is either v high hours / knackered or it's not a genuine post.
  17. If only it were pucker, I'd be in like flyn!!
  18. We had a guy in a van reverse in our gateway, he'd forgotten he had a ladder on the roof, the ladder ripped off the down pipe & smashed several tiles off the house. He started to drive off but I gave chase on foot and managed to smack the van. He slammed on the anchors, I only just managed a hard body swerve to avoid a face plant in the rear doors! Needless to to say, the red mist was in full force as the van door opened & I prepped for action stations... Bloke bust into tears, that took the wind out of my sails!! He was in a "marked van" though and I know the boss of the company so he was never going to get away with it. In your case, if I were you, I'd consider passing on the date / time / details to the neighbour. If they are 'decent and appreciative' I'd consider providing witness statement, if not, I'd say you've done the decent thing and leave it to them to take forward. Have a beer and a think about it...
  19. Pub in Kelly Bray, never mind what it says in the review: http://whatpub.com/pubs/COR/190/swingletree-kelly-bray Avoid on a full moon (and stay on the path!)
