  1. Hi All

I have recently taken a new job and it leaves me with Wed, Thurs & Fri free most weeks.

I am a qualified climber (up to degree level), I have all tickets inc dismantling etc, my own kit and saw with 13 years climbing experience.

I have worked all over the world and can be left with any tree related jobs, either under supervision or running a team

I am based in East Lancashire and am willing to travel up to an hour from the BB9 area.

If you need another pair of hands or looking for someone to do that tree you don't fancy yourself please give me a call (07766416843) OR pm

    Thank you

    Si

  2. Used to work for them.

Work is very steady, all kit is supplied and you pretty much get what you need in regards to ppe etc

Money is quite poor but you don't really work too hard so it balances out. Depends what you want out of the job

Pension is really good, so are the holidays. Most of the lads there at Whitebirk were sound when I was there.

  3. So I'm looking for a change and am trying to see whats out there if anything?

I am a fully qualified Arborist to degree level

I have been in the game 12 years now

Efficient and proficient climber with all relevant tickets (inc utilities for my sins) with all my own climbing kit and saw

I have been mainly in the surveying / consulting side of things for the last 3 years but have been climbing again more recently.

Experience of managing cutting teams, Arb consultancy inc BS:5837 Reporting, QTRA Surveys, Tree Hazard Assessment, Utility Surveys etc

I have worked all over the world but have settled in East Lancashire in the North West. Ideally I'm looking for work locally but accept travel may be necessary

At present I'm subcontracting and I know how things get when the weather turns so Im trying to cover my bases

If you want to know more or think you might have a use for any of my skills please give me a shout

    Si

  4. Apart from flu (proper flu) and broken bones you just soilder on. It can be a hard job to motivate yourself for at the best of times but as soon as your out and grafting you can sometimes come round.

  5. Hey boys and girls

Finally joined this forum. Have watched it for years but never contributed. Ive been in the industry now for 8 years. Have worked my way up through the ranks and i was unfortunate enough to do a degree in arb many years ago. I have worked in Oz, Sweden and Austria. Done consulting arb and have managed companies. Im climbing again at the moment but im not sure on the job anymore. The industry is a cruel mistress!

    Anyways back to the grind

    Hi

About

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
