  1. set within an industrial estate so relatively limited land value
  2. The law does not require a tree owner to cut back branches that encroach onto a neighbours land, but it does make provision for the neighbour to abate the nuisance by cutting back to the property boundary and no further. You already know this...
  3. Hectare of semi mature tpo broadleaf woodland was extensively ecoplugged on Friday evening by persons unknown. FC, planning, police; all aware. Is it worth removing the thousand or so plugs this late in the day? I'm unsure how rapidly the glyphosate disperses.
  4. v.interesting argument come sales pitch.
  5. Fungal id please - lapsed lime pollard - highway site
  6. An Oregon Guard Mate might be what you want...
  7. check the british geological survey for the local soil type. if it's clay then subsidence and heave are potential problems.
  8. What surprised me was that the landowner did not question the decision. It may be worth asking the local highway authority where their verge ends: fenceline or centre of ditch?
  9. where there is a ditch at the side of a road, the ditch can be interpreted as the boundary. Previously had a large lime at roadside, also in Essex and the County arb said that as it was on the far side of the ditch, it was the adjacent landowners responsibility.
  10. Tom in Stevenage does ours: http://www.willowsworkshop.co.uk/ 01438 355741
  11. first I thought raywood ash but I favour crack willlow
  12. Cedrus atlantica Glauca Bacterial wetwood, possibly Phytophthora. At best: insignificant, at worst: fatal. Monitor for crown dieback and branch death. get off your phone and put your back into it Avatar
  13. Bud proliferation of horse chestnut.
  14. imo... birch don't reduce well, nor do they compartmentalise well, they are a short lived species. Crown reduction will reduce the trees ability to fight infection. If there is significant loss of crown vitality or signs of dieback, fell & replace. If the crown is healthy, retain, mulch and monitor.
