  1. Easy day today before holiday. 19 inch roller drive, new clutch plate. Was hard to pull start. Nothing left on clutch, the mower does rev high but its the way the customer wants it so left it as it was with new clutch. Orderd another one ready for when he comes back at end of season. A Renault b120 tipper, this was a call out as the seven pin plug blew the fuses on lights and indicators when the chipper was connected. What an ugly looking van. Anyway replaced fuses lights work ok on tipper. Connected a lighboard works good, turned out to be chipper at fault, wire had come out of plug connection and crossed to another wire causing short. Had an old 020 come in at the last minute, unable to start, checked comp 50 psi. No good, customer doesn't want to spend anything on it so he is putting it in his parts bin. So that's it for a week I'm off to relax and enjoy the spa and swimming pools. Bench is clear and so is the yard, phone is going onto answer machine. Lovely.
  2. Says it has 3 point linkage? I must be blind as I can't see it. As soon as I looked at the pic I though land rover. Would scare the hell out of me, I'm not sure what it would be used for, most tractor trailers I know of can't go that fast as it would shred the tyres.
  3. Hydraulic oil level? Would say sensor fault but you cleaned it? Is there power to it? Is the computer at fault. Any wires hanging or loose? All connections ok? Sounds like a computer fault, might need reprogramme for the sensor, they can get knocked out of time so it doesn't feed properly.
  4. Sshhh I'm hunting thos pwesky wabbits. Love it. Sorry cant help by the way, just thought I'd have a look at the thread.
  5. Flame will burn away any resins or sap. Why I use them, but it will burn off nylon on locking nuts tho. Will have to look into replacement nuts or a locking compound.
  6. Yeah that's the place. Closest to us. The garage that used to do it closed. Buckland hill. Refuse to go down seafront and get it from the bp garage.
  7. We use a place called husks, it's a lorry industrial estate/compound. They have variouse lorry companies that use it, they have pumps some that are for white and some that are red. We use 25l drums, fill them up pay with the card and off we go. See if there are any around? As for not being allowed to store the diesel in a tank. Rubbish, anyone can buy red diesel and store it. It's not illegal to buy it or have it delivered. It is illegal to not have the correct tank if it is being delivered, it must have a sump under it that must have one and a half the capacity of the tank so that if the tank breaks it can catch the diesel and stop contamination of environment. The delivery driver can reject delivery if he is not happy with the tank.
  8. Nice. I put a tractor battery in the back for mine. Just thought a medium battery wasn't enough for what I wanted. Did play havoc with regulator and spent a month trying to get it set up right. Still the old girl is running fine and I need to tweak my brakes a bit, hate doing it. Are you going for the bigger tyres on her?
  9. I look out for the ones that say "just needs a service" they are the ones to watch.
  10. Nice. Must say did turn my stomach a little. But I don't mind gore. Would mind doing that to myself tho. Surprised it didn't make a bigger mess of the flesh, thought it would have torn more away. Must have been quick to react.
  11. Like the guy in video using saw isn't wearing gloves, look at the end when they are on the pallet upright. Nice to see tho as I like seeing what it does good vid.
  12. Wow, sod him, Had to read it twice. Guess he will not be getting anymore. Not sur eabout legal action now as he didn't mention who you were, but he has said that if anyone wants to know they can ask..... It's nice to see that you actually specified a length for him as we don't and they take them as they come. See what the editor says about it and go from there, if he doesn't want the timber he doesn't have to have it I'm sure others will, repeat custom is how the log game works so if everyone else is happy they will come back.
  13. Is the newspaper online? What is the date of it? Would like to read it, the moment you mention legal proceedings they will drop it and print an apology in the next issue. Most would not take notice of it.
  14. Yeah I would look towards that. I started on 50 but I didn't have any tickets and just dragged timber and brush about. I started from the very bottom with nothing. Now I've got felling and the like no climbing tickets but never needed them. It's not about what you have it's about what you can do productively and what makes you valuable to a team? I can make mechanical things work and spend a lot of time doing the maintenance on the machines, saws, chippers and vehicles. That makes me valuable to the business so I'm good without the need to climb.
  15. Screw it I don't care what my body feels like anymore, can't feel it anyway. Only live once and only in this body once, so I abuse it and take it for a mega ride I don't want to be sitting in a home thinking that I've got years left in me, I want to be able to sit there look out a window and think that I have had the best time ever. When I worry about what is going on in my body is the day I will stop tree work as I will realise how dangerouse and stupid it is and I should give it up and work in an office...... Yeah right.
  16. So the 200 is on its way out. Having tick over problems and it's starting to play up at starting. So looking at the 201 what needs to be done to it for running? I need a list that I can work through if and when I get one. Will bee looking at the husky top handle aswell if it is out yet? But that is another story.
  17. There's not much use in my part of Kent for them as there's soooooo many pto and whatnot on trees you would never get the timber to use a processor on. I did look to see if one would come in use a while ago but the work has never come up yet. Most if it can be done by hand and the type of trees that we typically do are never good enough for processer and it's easier to cut with saw and hyd splitter.
  18. It could be used for something like this eBay item number 230743784661
  19. Who hasn't had a bolt not come undone, normally an impact driver will do it. If no impact driver available for any reason using a drive bar and getting someone to hit it repeatedly with a club hammer also sometimes works. But now and again there's always that one that doesn't budge. I don't like drilling bolts out as it never goes as it should and like you say drill bit goes blunt so spend ages sharpening them, I turn to the gas cutter now if it allows. Much easier and I was surprised at how much I use it now.
  20. I'm going away next week. But nowhere that looks like that
  21. I do hope there is an alternator conversion in there to run all those spots. A dynamo won't put out enough to run them and bat will die as soon as you throw the switch. But I'm sure you know this and have done it.
  22. So how much would be looking at paying for one of these machines. This would be the big question.
  23. I wouldn't mind having one of these machines but the only thing that would worry me is damage to people's lawns? How much damage do they cause? Don't think most people would want one going over there nice lawn, I know I wouldn't. Sorry for a bit of a high jack
  24. I would keep it on. It's not just winches that can be run off this type of thing, anything that need a 12 volt supply can run off it. Keep the relay and big wires, could also use it for jumping other machines.
