  1. I'm sure you'll find it ok. let us know what you think of it.

Got the Berthoud 16l 2000 pro model.

Only observation so far it that the pump handle doesn't seem to have an upright stowed position - one has to remove it and reposition it on the splines?

  2. Apols for bumping again,

BUT need to get a knapsack pronto for occasional spraying round the farm. Trawl of threads on here and elsewhere indicates...

Berthoud: User straw poll here indicates these are No 1 by some margin, but at £160 (inc vat) not the cheapest.

Cooper Pegler: Not far behind and a tad cheaper.

Solo: Mixed reports. Bit cheaper at ~ £110. Quite a few supporters but leaks seem to be a problem.

Stihl: A few favourable reports of these, only 12Ltr but a LOT cheaper, £55 at Jonesie. Is there a catch..??

Jacto / Shindaiwa: It seems these are the same, the odd favourable review, cheaper than some at £100.

    Any Comments / Additions Please!!

    TIA

  3. Recently bought a cheapo £20 digitial meter from my chimney sweep. Seems to give reasonably consistent readings for any given split log. I've been measuring various h/w cut logs from freshly cut/split, to 'kiln' dried for a coupe of days beside the stove. Have the following observations:

Readings are usually higher measured on the ends of the log (often a lot higher) than on the sides, including when freshly split before measuring.

When measuring the sides, no significant difference across or parallel to the grain.

The bark invariable has very high readings usually >30%. Peeling off the bark often reveals visible dampness underneath.

Any comments appreciated - Happy New Year :001_smile:

  4. As I said earlier in this thread I do have a couple of those rarely use them myself as I have always used a round file & see no reason to change that, they are for employees that cannot use a file no matter how many times they are shown.

Even the newly qualified kids that are convinced they know everything there is to know about tree surgery can sharpen a chain correctly every time with one of these.

Idiot proof sounds good to me :001_smile:

EasyFile should be quicker as it does the depth gauges at the same time.

Or is there a risk of oversharpening the depth gauges?

  5. The Uniforest 35M does fit the AGT835 without any modifications required to the linkage. This is because the PTOs off set as far as it can be allowing plenty of space for the geometry movements.

    Calum @ Riko

Hi, Does the 35M fit a Dexta/MF35/135 linkage unmodified?

Just about to cut the PTO for my Dexta. Looks like the min distance between the UJs will be about 50cm. The offset of the 35M's pto from centreline is about 20cm; that's an angle of about 24degs. I think we're allowed up to 25degs.

I'm wondering if I should rig the winch a bit left of centre with the stabiliser chains, to reduce the offset in the working position? But that would put an angle in the top link which might not be a good thing?

    TIA:001_smile:

  6. NZ is a beautiful country. nice people, easy place to live, growing economy, but $NZ is down right now I'm told because of the low price of milk! Great climate esp in the North, fertile land. Has a frontier feel.

Roads aren't so good, dangerous, and of course you don't have the history or the architecture, but who cares?:001_smile:
