  1. A cheap quick fix is cohesive bandage or vetrap available from most farm equine  shops

i use it after ive made up or restored double and single bit axes for customers

I wrap it on a few layers for protection and it’s a brilliant shock absorber too try them out before shipping ,  then I can cut it off with theee old pocket knife

    and ship them out

Uncle Lee is the guy to talk when it comes to dolmar 166, i think it could have lower bore size like 52mm maybe. But stroke is 48mm i remember that, uncle lee has a hybrid 166 with 090 top end. They got a video of it running 72" bar in upstate gtg couple years back.

Uncle and I go way back, i sent him 3 units of 1201 and took me few years to find a good used 1200 to complete his big echo collection. Half of the 166 exist on the planet could belong to him, he had like 30 over 166s! At some point

He loves muscle saws, sent him a NOS Jonsered 920 last month. Last i heard his collection was close to 500 saws

Yes he loves his big saws that 166 was liked by everyone and so was the 1201

He received that 920 about the the same time I received the 7300

    088 crank 742g
    3120xp crank 839g
    070/090 crank 945g
    1200 crank 1,028g

I'll need 166 dolmar crank weight someday to complete these data's for my research

I believe the farm tractor folks will understand what im up to here1e554dbf895596a7a4bd170bac1ef0db.jpg18134aa3a0c3b7d1bb91eff5f74e2fde.jpg4e13e0b76bfdb84b79ed3345581416f9.jpgb638383d9bb24aa2b3b258baaa31eb94.jpg

Robin you should ask Lee about the 166 crank I cant remember bore and stroke

    On the CT and 166 was 56mm x 48mm

And another was mcculloch SP 125 was another long stroker

Well if battery tech does not materialize in a suitable format and wattage for

the bigger saws, then four stroke certainly could step in, just wondering if the

polution gap is close now between the new Two strokes and a similar powered

    Four stroke.

Well there new 9” grinder seems pretty impressive for  battery power

Well... If it is the end, properly, at least the saws are robust, reliable lumps with no electrics. Parts aren't too big an issue so I'll keep my ones going.

Get any desirable model you see snapped up, they will go up in value!

Yes just gotta snap them up when they come up just got this one

    a cousin of your saw

  7. Yes it looks like Dolmar might  be included in this scenario

I’ve  been talking to people in Germany since the weekend and nothing

has been confirmed or denied yet about Dolmar

but as @Echo said they’ve developed this mm4 engine which is beautiful and it

was designed between Makita and Fuji  Robin not much involvement by Dolmar

And  yes  the Dolmar 4-stroke chainsaw was A smooth operation

and with the new 4-stroke 70+ cc engine being hammered in concrete saws

and back pack blowers in a 360 degree operation  And this engine is light years ahead

    of the older design

so who knows it might come into flight again

flymos and hover mowers have been 4-stroke for years now

  8. I’ve had one the WC88 for about 5 years now always run it on a international 434

good size chipper it’s nice and slim when transporting had no real problems

only belts breaking  the hydraulic system is self contained and has been problem free

Plenty of grease nipples , good bearings and a heavy flywheel

i will be upgrading to a new one before Xmas hopefully

ive never  chipped any 8” logs never had the need to do this

iam a tight ass when it come to wood anything over the size

of a donkies manhood is firewood

So 5600 and 6100 only saws made atm  with reed valves design...

no there’s one extra model the  ps-352 ea3601 it’s a reed valve design

with two reed valves you gotta watch the video to see how it works

the saw is around the same size as a 242xp
