Used to make the " Tom Caxton " kits years ago . That was whiked gear
  4. They are essentially the same saw . Made in the Zomax factory in China and rebadged for every and any market . Never used one myself but heard of starter mechanisums falling apart , brake handles breaking , soft bars and generally pants construction . Then for £60 what do you expect . I would avoid myself but if you have no other options it might last you a short while . The other alternative is to look at a second hand pro saw ......?
  5. Good call Katie . I am fortunate to have an oily Meditaranian type of skin and go dark very quickly . Am 62 now and no problems yet . I had a mate who was a carpenter . White blond hair . He got skin cancer and it spread very quickly to his lymph nodes and he died within a month of diagnosis . He would be the same age as me but died at the age of 37 .

There is lots growing on the rail network all occross the country . This may help to spread it .
  13. One thing that can happen is if you slacken the side cover off too much the location spigot for the bar is engaged only on the taper . Yoy adjust then tighten the side cover , more of the taper engages with the bar pushing it forward and tensioning it a bit more.

Thats why when you pull it you need the proper fork to get all the roots . Pull before it seeds .
  15. Usually goes slack when not oiling as it stretches . Have you tried tensioning without the brake on ? you may have a " tight spot " where the chain has stretched but not evenly .
  16. Is the first a Robinia or pseudoacacia ?

Rag fork then burn it .
  18. I think they are for different saws . The distance from the front of the saw ( were the dawgs mount ) back to the drive sprocket can be different from one make to another for a given size saw . Hence the different " overall " lenghth . The working lenghth however could be similar .
  19. What did " they " bring in for top handles ?
