  1. Something is worn out or clogged up or maybe its juast a Stihl
  2. [quote name= 4mm cord on the 545RX would slow revs down far too much . Thanks for helping though [/quote] I would have to respectfully dissagree . Been using 4.0mm for a few years ( see pic ) . Some times get it too long but a quick buzz on the concreate and it revs up fine . It is a compramise I know but so is life .
  3. Yep you are right I know but when I first used a saw they did not have a chain brake . ( and no AV either ! ) So I am " old school " and rearly use it . Ignor me .
  4. When its hot like now fuel evaparate at a faster rate . If you have a primer bulb use that but dont use the choke when its hot .
  5. Dont rev it with the chain brake on . Why would you want to ? I very rearly use the brake but I understand why you do ( its because you have been told to in your training ) but mechanical sympathy , surely , dictates that you are asking to opposing forces to do battle ! Put the brake on if you must but dont make it work harder than it needs to .
  6. I use the Oregon " Jet cut " head and found it to be superb ! I use " Diamond edge " square line . 4.0 mm for snot and shite and 3.0 mm just grass . No guard and make it about 8 or 9 inches long to give a wide sweep without slowing it down too much . Use the 4 line head but only insret 2 lines in the lower slots ( closer to the deck and keeps the nut resessed . With the 2 line head the nut hits the deck ) You dont need 4 as it slows it down so 2 is fine and gives a waider sweep . Husky 545RX and 550 RX so 45cc and 50cc .
  7. Already happened . Must have a bit of the tarbrush in me down the line
  8. 'Kin scorchio Jon ! Bonkers hot here down south .....

  11. There is unrest in the forest , there is trouble with the trees , the maples want more sunlight but the oaks ignor their pleas ........
  12. Thats were I am . Early 2011 saw . Still going strong .
  13. Spuderized 346 8 pin 15" . 560 8 pin 18" . Spuderized 372 24" or Spuderized 390 28" .
  14. Wed could be 30 degrees or more down south + the high humidity .
