  1. My understanding was this applies until you become 31 so if you get you can still get your visa while you are 30. Then you can travel to Aus in one year after you have been granted the visa so you could get the visa while you are 30 and still travel over once you are 31 as long as it is within a year of you being granted your visa if that makes sense. Graham 4 weeks left till I go over!
  2. Where abouts is the company based in Aus?
  3. Pics look good I am coming out in the first week of june to perth way and will be looking for work when I get there.
  4. Hey Joe, I am in exactly the same boat but have already got my visa. I did it online with visa bureau and they were really good any my visa got confirmed within two days. They send out a good information pack to help sort out tax bank account sim card and things for when you get there. I am heading over to Perth side in the first week of June and will also be looking for a job once I get there any help appreciated. Graham

    Spiking

I too am just starting out and have only spiked under 10 times and found it really disconcerting at first. Though it is getting a better the more I do it so keep on going with it and take it in small steps. I also found having a reason to spike really helped as you can just think about the goal rather than the spiking itself. For me just doing a few pole rescues on a friend to practise for cs38 really helped. Graham
  10. Looking good I think I may be extending my wardrobe when they come out
  11. Been working tonight in the pub (to pay going through arb college) and had a cheeky few after finishing thatchers gold on tap hmmmm
  12. I would be interested to see how it runs as I am looking at getting my first saw as well and have been looking on avidly at ebay. Cheers
  13. Hi all, I have just signed up and would like to say hi. I am new to this site and the world of arboriculture but have just started a level 3 course at Cannington College in Somerset and already thoroughly enjoying it. I would like to say though that the forum has been really helpful for me so far in getting to know loads of things about the industry just from reading and watching some vids on youtube. Though I would like to say I thought there would be more on there, I watched some one dismantling a big monterey pine from a helmet cam and was really interesting for me and would love to see smilar kinds of stuff. Also I was wandering if any one new of some one or companies that may be willing to take me on for work experience on a friday or weekends as I need to log 300 hours over my time at college. I do not have cs 30 or cs 38 yet but should be getting them in november, but I have bought most of my PPE now including ropes and harness though I know that wont be used for a while. Thanks for all the help and keep up the good posting. Cheers gray
  14. Hi all, I have just started a level 3 course in forestry and arboriculture at Cannington college in Somerset. For my course I need to log 300 hourse of work experience and was looking if any of you fine fellows might know any body who might be interested in taking me on or know of any companies that may take on a work experience pupil. I can only do fridays and weekends because of college, but will be able to work more week days in holidays. I have also just ordered most of my PPE including ropes and harness as we should be looking at getting our CS 30 and CS 38 in November. I don't have much knowledge of the arb industry before now but if any one is interested in seeing my CV or having a chat I can give you a ring or send an email. Thanks for all the help Gray
