Mate I've always rated L200's as a good mix of torque for pulling, off road ability and road comfort. It can be beaten in all three area's but offers a good standard in all. Also in my experience as controversial as it might be to critic landrovers, but you have to pay more money to get a age for age vehicle compared to the Japanese options, which usually means compromising price or go for a older landy and potentially comprimise reliability?
Good luck with it and the new business whatever you go for.

This might not be for you but, you could try giving your local companies a shout to try and get some volunteering/cheap labour. If you're working for free and they've got the time then as far as im concerned they owe you a demo on the ropes. Use that and try and get yourself on an aerial rescue short course, it'll cost a few quid, but that way you'll legally be able to spot a climber and thus more employable. Then build up your site experience until you can afford the next course. It's not the same as doing a full time college course but on site work and talking to different arborist is all good learning. Most guys tend to have cs30,31,32 aerial rescue(used to be 38) and cs39 with a few other tickects like IPAF(cherry picker) and chapter 8(road safety), which can all be done as short one off fee courses(which in theory you'll be earning money to pay for). The rest is all down to experience and your own willingness to gen up on tree knowledge. The other thing i'll say is that if someone trains you it's the decent thing to stay with that company for a few years and not expect to clear a massive wedge of cash each week. All the best mate.
