  1. Mine wasn't. But are you willing to bet a lean seize on your logic? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. Good man. No need to go messing about with the flywheel key or carb limiter! Just check the plug colour after the first few uses. Mine didn't need adjusting but it's good to be safe! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. I'm trying to upload a vid of a Chilean pine deadwood I did earlier this year. Bear with me, it might be ready this time tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. It would appear that NZ has a better sport climbing culture than here. Is the industry as saturated and the wages as tight over there? FWIW I'll be attending a comp next year, don't know which one, probably the 3atc, since I actually heard about that one. But it's because of this thread, so we'll done. 5. Thanks for taking the time to post the link, I couldn't be bothered on a Saturday evening. For me it perked it up enough not to warrant faffing about with the limiter or flywheel key. The effects I found were snappier pick up, and the engine breathed easier so there was far less bogging down in full bar length. These new engines are quite heavily retarded, which increases longevity, since the saw is never able to work as hard as it potentially can. The muff mod just helps the saw realise a bit more of its potential. If you time the two vids the difference is fairly significant, considering its 2 mins with a drill. My kind of engineering! 6. I put a couple of clips up on YouTube showing the difference between my stock 201t and then once I'd opened the muffler (2x6mm holes). I'll try and find them. Edit: just search my name in YouTube. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. I have a kershaw carabiner knife on my personal harness, and at work I carry a 3 1/2" folding Swiss army single blade in my pocket Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Hi all, We have an estimated 4 or 5 tons of pine in Nuneaton. Good lgv access. If you can collect it, it's yours. Beer tokens welcome. Pm me if interested. Will be ready by the weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Interesting, Jon. I love the 460, you may have just convinced me! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. That's how I want to go... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Does a felling cut at the base still count as getting the casualty down? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. So long as I actually hear about it I'll make a point of getting there. I'll also make a point of getting you and any other competition hammered, to put myself on a more level playing field! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. I reckon the more amateurs that have a go, the less scary it is for others. If I went along and the only competitors were grizzly seasoned comp climbers, I reckon I'd be too intimidated to give it a go. A decent group of beginner comp climbers though, and there'd be a small chance I wouldn't be too bad, relatively. I'd be much more inclined to have a go and wouldn't mind making an arse of myself. Does that make sense? FWIW I'd seriously enjoy the experience. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. Is it really better? You can't be telling me Stihl have actually improved a saw!? I'll compare the two and see! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. I know how good the 460 is Jon, even on a 25" it's a belter, but the Huskies lend themselves to modding better, and it's lighter! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. Possibly, but for the power to weight ratio I'm better off with a 70cc saw. Can't decide between a brand new 372, or looking for a 2nd had one. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Glad to hear it. Still most jealous of the bargain he got though! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I sincerely hope the person in question reads this and has just forgot. Honest people don't deserve to be ripped off. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. Crying shame bud, and it ruins the ethos of this site. FWIW I'd have offered more than that out of principle. On this forum I'd assume people were trustworthy. Only takes one to ruin it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Bloody hell. I'd have loved that deal! Let's hope this is a misunderstanding. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Piston and cylinder scoring, likely due to an air leak, manifesting itself with low compression and warm start failure. I still have it. Not sure weather to flog it as spares, or just swallow the loss and forget it! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. Oh Stubby, I'm looking for such a saw! I'd be interesting what you asked for for it? Perhaps I could go and reclaim the saw if I paid you your asking price Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. All very fair points. I'm no stranger to making an arse of myself anyway! If these events were better promoted I'd happily have a stab at the beginner circuit. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. If there was an event accommodating mediocre climbers with appalling throw line skills I'd be all over it like a rash. Honestly, it sounds intimidating to get into, and the bigger boys might be mean to me! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Pretty sure it's 3/8, but I'll be sure to check Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
