  1. Have you seen them do it or have you just seen the stumps? Sounds to me like its a space cut out for a bottle jack to push over back leaners. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. The second video is impressive. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. Nice to see you guys over the pond doing broad leaves as well as the endless firs you seem to get! I like the technique at around 3:00 where you fell a top out and hold the butt just long enough to stop it floating away from the tree. I used this a few weeks ago to avoid a phone line. Really handy trick! Let's have some cheery music for the next one though, eh? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. Yup Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. What waist size are you Tom? I have a pair of Stein Revolution Type Cs in almost new nick. Small size, if you're interested? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. I can turn into a beautiful princess if you kiss me? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. Tbh I couldn't give a toss who charges what. I make a living. The fact that the OP blatantly takes everybody's price on board then refuses to publish what he's put on it, is what bugs me. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Scum like us will get our come uppance, for sure. Until then I'll be smiling with my 20% cheaper beer. Edit: think I saw you at the Show, I introduced myself to Bolam, wasn't until after I left I realised who you guys probably were. Hi there, I'm belated Joe! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. In fairness I'd have put 3-400 on it. Weekender, cash in hand. Two lads on the deck, me with kit and big saws. I personally don't see anything wrong with that. Crash and Dash jobs like that are well suited for a weekend job where no transit/chipper is needed. Never done a foreigner before? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. Fair comment. Don't ask of other what you're not prepared to do yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Me personally? Up to 15" I would guess. That said I've dropped much bigger with my 211 Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. A good mid range saw would be: Husqy 560xp Echo 620 Dolmar All around £600. I doubt that's within your budget. Why do you need a mid range saw for small trees? A Stihl 211 will be a good saw and pay for itself inside a week, at around the £200 mark. Don't be tempted to go for the 16" bar though. You're welcome (in advance ) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. Chain brake, clutch drum, cylinder fins, flywheel housing, and what's with that stupid plastic bit screwed inside the flywheel housing? The torx screws are a different size and I can't see it's point! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. I don't employ or sub. I'm employed. £80 seems fair for weeding. Some people pay much less for a lad dragging brash through a long garden to a chipper for that (and expect them to run back)! How much would you pay? I'll send you my CV Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. For weeding, yeah. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. Not sure where I could put my iPhone without making the mouthpiece smell bad... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Yes mate, it can usually get worse. Try and keep your head above water. Eat and sleep well, you can't have a happy mind without a happy body. Look after yourself and you'll be able to look after others better for it. I feel for you dude, honestly, but try and find the positives in what you have: a daughter who loves you for one. There are people far worse off than yourself. You seem like a motivated bloke Chris. I believe you'll be okay, but it doesn't happen overnight. Keep smiling mate, for yourself and those that mean the most to you Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I hear the ladies go mad for it though! I sharpened my mates 200T on Friday, he came back a few minutes later and I had it in bits with a can of WD40 and airline... I can't help myself! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. The 357 is mine . I bought it as a part ex, and had it delivered to Spud. I spent over an hour stripping and cleaning my 038 before I sent it to the buyer. He obviously didn't do the same for me! Sorry mate, it's a bit like being an IT consultant and being asked to clean off someone's dirty keyboard! At least the previous owner of the Husqy had to pay extra for all that crap he sent with the saw! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. You'd think, wouldn't you? Strap it to their back and open the valve however... ...it'll turn a groundie into something from an Elton John song! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Not with a mobile phone in one hand and sandwich in the other Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. You go back to the van to refuel? We refuel on the spot, I'll bet the man hours add substantially with going back to the van to refuel then blowing out your saws, over ten years. I don't think the difference between blowing out your saws after each fuel, and doing it at the end of every day would greatly affect the life span of your saws. Just me, mind Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. I can't imagine why you'd need a compressor during the day to clean a saw out. We use ours all day long without a clean and blow em out back at the yard. I suppose you could brush off the filter during the day, but I'd still call that a waste of time. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. I'd bite this mans hand off if I were you! Cracking saw, just sold mine on for £100 more than what he's asking for! Real torquey beast! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Surprising how many of you are against vests. It's a physical job, in the heat. Wear whatever will make you the most comfortable! Besides, I'll be judged on my work, not how I look. (Spoken like an ugly SOB with camp tan lines ) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
