  1. Great small saw, light cheap and reliable. Just keep it sharp.
  2. No? I'll be careful then! I'm not gonna use them every day, got my Airstreams for that, but for decent climbs it's a nice option, and a lovely pair of boots!
  3. Bought a pair at the APF today, £150. Very comfy so far. The lack of toe cap feels somewhat liberating. Pretty light and look to be a quality pair of boots. As an employee who has been provided with steel toed chainsaw boots, if I should have an accident wearing these I'd imagine the blame would not land at his feet but mine. I'm happy enough with that.
  4. I think he's joking that he has a conny hedge Keep up mate!
  5. Well and truly told... I got nothing.
  6. Should I get my undies LOLERed?
  7. I reckon a lot of people would go for this Personally I find duck tape and araldite excellent
  8. How about how long it takes to kill a mccolluch by dropping a tree on it?
  9. On paper Jon, I'll need to see timed cuts to believe it myself!
  10. Fair enough, my "dremel" takes 4.5" grinding discs I farm that kind of work out to people who don't snigger at the "bottom end"
  11. Not if it's me on the other end of the dremel!
  12. My point was that good working practices and common sense will keep you much safer than any ppe. And if you say one more word against Eric Bana you and me gonna have problems
  13. Doesn't matter, your transit is overloaded with anything bigger than a splitting maul in the back... I've only drank fanta tonight.
  14. I don't mind a bit of trimming to break things up a bit, but I haven't had a tree that scared me in a while, apart from sawing my wrist 3m up a pollarded willow I like trees that make me think! Sounds good, PM me
  15. Nice one Been mostly hedge trimming this week, big pop fell last week, so I'm looking forward to a big dismantle
  16. Maybe hire a climber in for a day or two? A decent climber should be able to do it safely and have the saws needed.
  17. Good climb? I'm good mate, been dying for a dams good dismantle though! You getting more tree work yet?
  18. If you fancy trying the butterfly I have one in my garage you can borrow. The treemotion I'm less keen to lend however!
  19. Aren't you on holiday Spud?! Take a day off!
  20. I own a butterfly and a treemotion. The tm is lovely, very well made, but the butterfly is also pretty decent for the price.
  21. Try out the Komet Butterfly, I always thought it was basic, but I never climbed on a Willans! Reasonably priced, and tough. Seems like just what you're after!
