  1. we are clearing a site near Exeter mainly silver birch bit of ash/oak 95%of it would be processor size, felled in the winter. There should be several loads. Not sure what the customer wants for it but if you want to pm me your details and a price per ton or cubic meter, bearing in mind the stuffs been down at least 7 months and I'll pass your details on to the customer.
  2. i've just bought a swivel converter for my tractor seat not yet put it in I think it was about £65 well made thing, should save a lot of back ache. The thing with some tractors is there isn't enough room in the cab for the seat to swivel

  12. All the ground prep not included as ive already priced that but they want me to plant the trees aswell .The price incudes supplying plants,the trees there are japanese larch (clean) at the mo, they would have to be gaurded as there is no deer fencing
  13. I've looked at a job to fell a 2 acres of larch and to replant it and just wondered what some of you would roughly charge to replant with larch, it would include stakes, gaurds, trees and labour, cheers.

  16. a good thing if you can get hold of them is old curtain sides off a lorry really durable and not usally alot of money

  19. been offered a fowarding trailer with crane for hire and just wondered what people pay for hire per day/weekly cheers jim
  20. we use sack trucks on pneumatic tyres for our barrow bags, brilliant for difficult deliveries, one place we go we have to take them through a house to get them in a barn out the back, and the barrow bags are just the right size to fit through doorways if your carefull.

Got to look at some desiesed larch trees (p.ramorum) i understand that there are strict rules on handling the stuff the forestry commison say that the bark has to be stripped if i am to process it on site i.e logs or milling timber. whats the best way to strip the bark ? Is there anyone who hire peelers (it would have to be a fair size) could i strip the bark offf with a swing shovel? any ideas much welcomed cheers jim
