  1. Obviously an educated guess, but it might be something to keep the box rigid on the axle..

The mudguards are metal, The box actually tips. There a release pin at the front on the shaft. The pivot point where it tips is basically a big bolt. Iv had a look all over and looked at the manual. Still cant figure out where it comes from.

  2. Ok so basically i bought a small trailer today for taking wood away from small jobs. I went to collect it and it comes in 2 boxes and the axle comes separately. Ill need to build it myself which i dont mind as it will be a bit of fun on a day off.

I came across this bit loose in the back of my truck which wasnt there before i collected the trailer. I can only think that it came out of one of the boxes as one had a bit of water damage and had a small hole in it. I thought it was originally one of the loose parts to be assembled. But i can figure out where it has come from to save my life! It looks like the small stud in it was attached to something plastic which has broken off. WHAT IS IT AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM!!!

Help me please, im going crazy! I dont want to start building it only to find that ill have to take it apart and bring it back and wait another 2 weeks for a new one. Any help would be awesome and much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  3. Hi all, i have a few nice discs of Yew that we took down a while back that i want to make a few things from (clock face, wall art etc) and was just wondering what finish i should put on it?

Its still very light so i would ideally like to darken it very slightly but still enhance the natural grain of the wood itself and also put a nice glossy finish on it. Iv tried Teak oil in the past but again it comes up very light.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Im down in Swanage at my famalies holiday home for a week or so and have all my kit with me in case there is any work going.

    I have CS30/31/38/39

    Stump grinder

    Chipper.

My rates are flexible. Im hard working and will do whatever is required, weather it be climbing or dragging brash.

Anyway, if anybody needs a hand for a day or so then please let me know.

    Cheers.

  5. Ok so i had to get a new top handle saw about a month ago due to my trusty 200t getting stolen along with 2 other saws and a blower. I was told that the new self tuning version of the 201t had all the bugs etc fixed so went for that. Im not sure if its a new feature to use less oil or something but i since i bought it from new i can get through about 6 tanks of fuel before having to refill the oil.

Can anyone advise me as to if this is normal for the new versions of the 201t?

Iv got the oil screw thing set to max.

    Cheers

  6. Can't say as i can recall any splinters but some coniferous trees have given me irritating rashes from the foliage on my arms.

If you've got the splinter out give it a good clean out and get a small dressing on it.

Second that. Just did a big fell to waste job on a LOT of pine. Whilst wading through the dropped trees i got torn up. Thought nothing of it until that night when i developed a irritating rash all up my arms and neck.

Different people have different reactions to conifer.

  7. Ok so iv heard and read a bit about these trousers on here but there seemed to be a bit of a size difference between these and the Hi-Flex sizing.

Basically im needing a new pair of type c`s and i like the fit of hiflex but iv had a few pairs and as im sure you all know, they just dont last.

I wear size Large in hi-flex and they fit great, i dont like the baggy trousers as they just feel too bulky. So how do the Arbortecs compare to Hi-Flex ?

    Cheers

  8. Alright guys, im looking for someone with a van and chipper for 1.5/2 hrs some time this week or at the weekend. Iv pollarded 2 small limes that havent been done in about 6 years so there is a fair bit of re-growth to chip but shouldnt take too long at all.

If anybody want a bit of extra beer money on the way back from a job or something then please let me know asap as i did the job for an elderly neighbor as a favor. Her husband died earlier this year and he would normally have taken care of things like this.

    Cheers guys.

  9. Hi guys, bit of a long shot but i thought id have a go. Myself and a mate are traveling to Belfast on Sat 30th May for the Glasgow warriors v Munster rugby final and am finding it pretty impossible to find any hotels/ hostels/ b&b`s anywhere as the Irish golf open is on at the same time.

So i am putting some feelers out to see if there are any fellow arbtalkers/rugby fans that may be able to put us up for the night. Payment in the form of money, beer and laughs will be made if anyone can help.

    Cheers guys:thumbup:

  10. Cheers lads. I was servicing and cleaning my saws, left them in the back of my truck and completely forgot to take them out again. They tried the lock on the glass and tailgate but no luck so just smashed the glass and grabbed the saws and blower. Insurance said that my saws are only covered if im out on a job or the truck is parked in a secure place i.e drive way or garage. But i was parked out on the street.

They had obviously targeted me as this is the first time my saws have been left in the truck overnight. Forensics said that they were wearing fabric gloves therefor no prints can be found. :crying:

  11. get them up on arbsafe mate

    Cheers Steve,

Frjones managed to get the serial number for the BG86C blower as well which is 292387354.

Unfortunately i bought the 200T in 2011 so they dont have it logged. Between moving houses iv lost my copy of all of them as well.

Some amount of scum out there people. Be safe.

    Cheers

  14. I bought myself a "parrot rolling spider minidrone" (wheels come off to become a normal drone) my thought was that rather than climb to check for eggs in nest/ damage in unions/ rot high up in the canopy etc i could just send this mini drone to take some pictures. The best part is that it is a palm sized drone controlled from your smart phone/ ipad/ tablet. Havent had the chance to use it yet as am still off injured but will post some pictures as soon as im able. Check out [ame]
