What you are missing though, is that the brakes get used a lot less in electric cars, so much less brake dust. As for weight, you are correct batteries are heavy, but overall weight only about 10% more.
Agreed, however the newer fleets of electric tube trains and overground units use regenerative braking as well and so use less power overall.
1 to save wear and tear and 2 after an upgrade in the power control network and systems it is able to use the generated power and hence lessen the power demand. Not network wide yet but it'll be there in the next few years.

The whole cars are compliant...when similarly engined commercial derivatives aren't just highlighted in my mind hat it was nothing to do with pollution and was all about money.
Even more...wen I used to work nights. I would take a VW Lupo Diesel in to work. It would easily do 70mpg and nearer 90 when in the 20mph zones...I'd be charged £12.50 before midnight and £12.50 after whilst using just a gallon of fuel to get there and back.
Conversely a friend down the road had an 09 Bentley. Compliant ! so he would burn several gallons on the same trip. Yet no charge.
8 gallons of petrol vs 1 gall of diesel. doesn't make sense in my head. So therefore seems to NOT be about pollution.Lastly living outside of the zone and working inside without access to scrappage or any of the other benefits. unfair

Morning and seasonal greetings.
Everything sorted for Christmas so a quiet morning up the farm clearing fallen trees and the odd dead ash for the farmer and my log store...when I can get in there with the truck in spring.
A happy place.

Morning all.
Bob be honest, you've been working with MI5 haven't you?
All these trips to London, secure key drops and damage reports, you've been keeping the nation safe! 😂
Have a good day folks, the weekend is upon us.
Sorry to burst your bubble. No.The original firm had MoD contracts and so I had all the Security vetting to go "places". Keys were just Masters for a load of Comms Cabs. They don't want me being a bad chap now I'm leaving. Plus they can be re-allocated to someone else. Boring, eh? Sorry.

Morning
Off to London handing in my secure keys and on the last few days of work.
What a relief.

Recently purchased a Big MIll. An Older version and so the current manual doesn't contain the relevant setup or part numbers.
Anyone got a scan of the old manual? Please

Don't really do Mince pies, Christmas cake or Christmas Pudding myself. Can remember being extremely disappointed as a kid to get offered a mince pie and taking a bite to discover that their was no minced meat involved....
Mother makes hundreds of the things and they go to village or church events and are well received.
My only disappointing pie is one is the one that reveals a massive void inside and a measly smear of mincemeat. Makes yer mouth dry just thinking about it........reaching for the Tea to wash it down.

Never really thought much about mince pies, but I can vouch for Aldi's Stollen. An essential element of our Christmas fare, along with a gammon joint for boxing day.
Stollen all the way.
Brought some snack sized mini Stollen back from Hannover in October. They didn't last a week.
Mince Pies have their place but with custard only.- 1
