  1. Amazing. I think I might start a collection myself
  2. Hi just a post to say that my mate had the Valtra last and part exes it into Wilsons for the yellow 6550 with a roof mount. He looked after it we'll maintaining it every day. In good useable condition and in fact I often drove it and it went well. He says it's rubbish that it was on its last legs and he only changed as he was putting too many hours on it through his forestry business where it was getting used every day for winching, driving a horizontal splitter and forwarding in the woods. He's an owner operator so didn't take any risks with it as he needed it the next day! He bought it off Aspen. Had good solid wheels and a valtra tombstone weight on the front. A few oil leaks but which tractor doesn't? I can pm his number to you if you want to ask him about it directly?
  3. Just wondering if anybody has any feed back on tree hog chainsaw boots and how they are getting on with them. Just had to send mine back after only 2 months. And I only wear them for 3 days a week max. All the stitching has come away from the heal so I can now put 4 fingers in the space and feel my foot. Just wondered if any body else has had similar experience
  4. Open to sensible offers per ton. There will be no vat to pay which helps. I'll see if I can get a pic of the stack
  5. It is supposed to say artic load not article. Fingers like pig tits I'm afraid trying to type on I pad.
  6. Hi I have a full article load of firewood for sale. It is in 3 meter lengths and consists of ash oak field maple yew and horse chestnut. 70% would go through a firewood processor. It has been felled at the end of last year so pretty dry. Only selling as I am unable to get a lorry into my yard Wood located near Cirencester Looking for a quick sale as it is in customers field Pile is located next to the road so is ready for a lorry
  7. Same as above but use salt in future to calm the fire out. But don't get confused with sugar. Does the complete opposite
  8. I'm busy enough to leave it but responsible enough to say. My local TPO officer said it was a un nessery reduction before when I did the TPO check. He might say something?? Not to sure really
  9. Went to look at a job a month or so ago. A large beech. The tree had been previously reduced (in a really bad way). So customer rings me which I was so pleased about because I've been wanting to work on this tree for years. I explain that 60% of the tree was dead which was obvious and the main cause is ostulina (apologies for spelling) so we spend a good hour discussing the removal or leaving a mono lift. In the end it was decided to use the main trunk and get it milled. The spalation would look amazin, plus keeping the wood to use for something that would last. Anyway sent the quote in after getting quotes from highways and Weston power to drop lines. Customer emails back and says thank you for such a detailed quote and I will let you know either way, which I thought was nice. So I drive past today and see that the dead wood has been removed and the rest of the semi good wood that is left is hanging over the road. All the main timber over balancing the tree. I can 99% say that some serious branch work will come down or the whole tree. My dilemma is do I speak to them and say it has been left unsafe or just forget it. I would post pics but as it is not my job I feel it would be inapperoiate.
  10. Cut throat every time. The man way to shave
  11. I think it's because generally we had such a mild winter are way that the trees didn't go into their dormant state as they require through winter times. Thus the trees looking very lathrgic at the moment. Not sure how right I am but could be one of the many reasons
  12. Come rent puxhole with me. Just need waders and a boat and you will be fine
  13. I'd take the lot. Cash waiting. I'm in stroud send me your details and we can work a deal
  14. The main problem is with laurel wood chip when it has been stood for a few days. Once it starts fermenting. Then once disturbed it can release some nasty spores. As for burning I agree with the rest of the guys, long as it is dry it will be fine. Just don't stick your face in the stove and breath the smoke.

  19. I have found that alot of people ask me to travel miles to quote jobs, it could be a small tree to a big week long job but everyone is worth looking at and pricing up. You will never win all contracts if it was that easy in this game everybody would be doing it thats why ive had some people get five or six quotes and ive missed out on a few. I see that your pissed but its good to hear people are hearing of you and at least got you in mind. Chin up because some people dream of sucess while others wake up and work hard for it, so keep them quotes going in. All the best for future work
