  1. I find a reversing camra on the back of the truck does the trick

As for moving chipper about if its a small (750kg) no problem but if you've got a bigger chipper have you thought about fitting caravan motor movers ??? There's a big 9" chipper on a twin axel trailer iv got my eye on and if I end up buying it the 1st thing I'm doing is fitting 2nd motor mover from eBay

I agree reverse camera is a big help and avoids accidents as in most cases you cant see with a chip box on so don't second guess as its not good practice otherwise as stated take it off and push it in etc

  2. Noticed that on my driving licence yesterday, mine is amber too.

Haven't done a cpc and don't intend to so it must be summat else. Mine has a class 1 on it.

I would love to know what the traffic light symbol is on the licence and on the driver qualification card D.C.P.C for its there for a reason ????

  3. Ok, so we will agree a day is 8 working hours, so 0.833m3 / hr.

    Thanks

yes i would also agree with that" & with a home made 11hp 30 ton ish splitter with the engine plodding uses about 5ltrs a day petrol and all arbwaste rings upto 4ft die and some of its really tough to chomp up so i just slice it up with the chainsaw smaller etc then use it on my own fire as the knotty stuff burns really well

  4. My taking is that I won't need CPC as a tree surgeon (no log/chip sales or delivery). The gov website states:

Vehicle uses where you don’t need Driver*CPC

You don’t need Driver*CPC*if the vehicle you drive is:

used to carry material or equipment you use for your job - but driving the vehicle can’t be the main part of your job.

Hearing about you guys enduring this uninspiring, mindless drivel, is making me question my understanding.

    Have I got this wrong?

    Cheers

    Mark

yes your rite you wont need one as you state drivings not your main job etc

  5. you sure or havin a laugh any links please :001_huh:

just to add i should have a green light as i managed to stay awake for the full course even though the lights were on i wasn't in it was a slog doing the five 7hr sessions how did you find it

  6. Red is for people who failed all the modules, green is for people who passed them all, and Amber is for people who just scraped through.

  7. I got my CPC card in the Post Saturday.

I now am qualified to drive a CE vehicle combination professionally.

I am very pleased with this development.

Regarding your cpc card mine has a traffic light symbol on the left with the amber light showing its located on the back left hand side & cant find out what its for etc i would love to know ????

  8. i'vv had a mooch on the net but cant find any info regarding when my stihl 024 was manufactured when new as it would be nice to know how old it is. I would of thought there would be a engine number table on how to tell etc. As my serial number is 127578115 but unsure how to read the numbers to work out the year so would be grateful for ant help thanks

  9. you can leave the oil in if it does'nt leak>>> as for petrol all i've ever done is store them full so there is less air for the fuel to go stale but tip it out for my old lawnmower and refill and give it a run/warm up every now n then to purge fresh fuel/mix through the carb etc but ideally you could use aspen as a occasional user for firewood

  10. SET FIRE TO IT STANDING LOL

it'll go up like a roman candle my mate did it to his and it made flames higher than his house he **** himself as it melted the plastic guttering i was crying laughin at him when he told me what he had done to get rid he was doing a search of his loft space for fire n smoke when i turned up to visit him one sunday morning and the tree was black burned bald lol his eyes were out on stalks when he came out of his loft i could'nt stop laughing at him

  11. also the hardness/grade of steel/ temper and some are chrome steel coated for longevity so its a minefield what file to choose i use oregon & save edge but i lean more to use save edge they seem to be less skiddy and take more off on each stroke so quicker to touch my chains up and crack on etc i use full chisel oregon multicut chrome steel chains as i'am ringing up dirty/muddy arb waste etc
