  1. What's that for?

Draft is used for ploughing etc.

Position controls the movement of the lower link arms ie raise the quadrant lever a bit and the arms raise a bit .push the quadrant lever right down and the arms go right down.

If the lower links do not move proportionatly with the quadrant lever then you are in draft.

  2. I would investigate the mains side of the energiser not the high voltage output.

    I've been thinking some more.:001_rolleyes:

If what you think is happening , (with the bare wire and the water in the pipe) ,it should not be a problem , because the current would return to ground in the same way as an animal getting a shock.

But if your energiser was poorly earthed (fence earth) and the mains earth was more efficient, the current from the fence would not return via the energiser and the RCD would see an imbalance and trip.

How have you connected the earth terminal on the output side of the energiser ?

  3. Hi

I have recently bought a New Holland 5635 to replace a Ford 6610.

However I am having trouble with the rear spool valves. I run a small Fmv crane on a 6 ton trailer which I just used to plug in to the 6610. But on the new Holland it wont send oil through.

I don't know if im just connecting it up wrong or may be the oil flow is to high for the valve block.

Also I cant run a hydraulic top link at the moment seems to be sending oil to the spool valve ok and looks pressured up.

The controls in the cab seem to be the same as the 6610 just pull back on the lever and it should work.

New Holland has two pairs of valves that I think work vertically same as the old 6610.

    Any help would be great

    Cheers

I wonder if CNH have changed the lay out of the couplers so that the bottom 2 are one slice and the top 2 are another slice.:001_rolleyes:

Try connecting a single acting ram ,like a tipping trailer, to each coupling in turn and see what happens.:thumbup1:

  4. My first 5105 came from the states in 2011 and it came with a dolmar 084 chain and that was full chisel .050 1.3mm

Can you double check that ?

    There are 2 options in my 116 manual - 099 and 084

099 is 3/8" pitch and 0.058" gauge and is identicle to Oregon 73LP.:thumbup1:

084 is listed as 0.325" and 0.058" so could be 21LP:confused1:

  5. Does anyone make a full chisel chain in narrow kerf in .325 x 1.3 ?

Stihl's PS is only available in 3/8. I run Stihl RS on all my other saws ( the Dolmar was bought for the garden ) and would prefer full chisel on the narrow bar as well if possible.

Perhaps my only option is to change the bar and rim to 3/8 ?

You can get Stihl RS in 0. 325 x 0.050 and it will run on narrow kerf bars.:thumbup1:

You will need to check clearance between the chain guide plates on the oil feed and the clutch cover.

  6. What Oregon chain is rebranded as Dolmar 484, 21BPX or 95VPX? :confused1:

It surely is a "green" semi chisel, as it has larger rakers than LPX....

95vpx - same as Husqvarna H30 (pixel) chain.

The raker bulges foward to allow a shallower slope on the "ramp".:001_smile:

  7. Maybe I've missed summat, but surely that shows what they ask?

They are not asking you find the value of n,but are asking you to ,write an equation for the probability , that can be simplified to the equation given.

30 years ago I would have simply replaced 5/9 with 5/n-1 and solved it.

I guess its harder once you've worked out the answer.

  8. My only small question is what oiler drive gear to use - but until proven wrong I believe the stock one will do, as I never have seen any indications that it doesn't.

Unusual for a 40cc saw - drive splines on the outside.
