  1. I have 540 mature ( 30mtrr x 1.5 mtr dia) douglas fir trees in the limoges area in france and I have been approached to sell them . What would be a fair price . Any advice much appreciated

      This is going to be hundreds of lorry loads of timber and unless they are simply too big for the mills will be at least half a million Euros maybe a lot more.

       

      Employ the services of a forestry agent who know the local market.  I assume such people exist in France, maybe a few of the Arbtalkers who are based in France could point you in the right direction.  For a parcel of this size you don't want to skimp on the professional advice.  

       

      Thinking about it you could start by speaking to Chantler Timber here in the UK - they buy a lot from France, Germany etc so I would think they will have the knowledge and they speak English (in case you don't speak French).
