Hope I've not picked this up wrong but I by thought it was common knowledge that unless you are using the Husky XP oil you had to go to a 33:1 mix rather than a 50:1 for all the 5 series Husky saws.

So, a few months ago I asked on here if anyone had a solution to the problematic cutting out of ms362s which would only restart by holding the trigger fully open whilst pulling the recoil. A potential suggested solution (Spud I think) was making sure the clutch bearing was lubed, which didn't really solve the issue and soon four of our fleet of five was acting the same way. It was decided that trying to start saws at full revs, as well as being dangerous probably wasn't good for the saws, so the saws were sent to the workshop for repair. As it turns out the saws are just out of warranty and guess what? Apparently there's nothing wrong with the saws, Stihl have said the problems are caused by using dirty fuel. I call bullcrap, none of our other saws, ground, climbing or pole, leaf blowers etc. have missed a beat. So what gives?

Greased up the bearing and over the last week or so all seems to be well. Just wish the crankshaft was drilled so you could lube the bearing from outside the clutch drum with a grease gun like we used to be able to to on 357s and the like.

We've got 262s as our general groundsaws, used for more Arb work than forestry. The saws are now just over a year old and we'll maintained, however they have become problematic after a period of use, cutting out from tickover and not restarting unless the throttle is held wide open. Is this a known problem with these saws and will it be fixed with an update to the auto-tune under warranty.

A beautiful little tree (not more than 8m) growing in the garden of the Hunters Inn, north Devon.
A colleague reckons its Sorbus aria majestica, I'm not convinced as I think the leaves are too heart shaped. The leaves are v. large 170mm x 100mm and there is fruit which does look kind of Sorbus like but cherry sized.
I await enlightenment.

Thanks for that spud, thats about as far as I can get too, seems bizzare when you think about how much of the system has been already been changed, anyway might as well go all the way and finish the job.

I've got an 026 circa 95' not done a lot of work. I seized it recently because the filter in the carb under the top plate was partially blocked and I leaned it right out to try to get it to run at full revs also without the top cover on, so no forced air. Anyhoo, I replaced the piston and barrel plus the fuel pipe and tank filter but am finding that after two or three tankfulls the same filter in the carb (on the fuel side mind) is getting blocked up with really fine debris. How is this stuff getting into the system, could it be coming in through the tank breather? Any ideas or thoughts would be gratefully recieved.

Well seasoned lime does'nt burn with a lot of flame but will sit and glow red and chuck out loads of heat for ages.

Re. the fuel mix, I was originally made aware of the 33:1 thing by Loudoun at Burnside Garden Machinery in Kilsyth, it's also on page 18 of the user manual, as.
Mixing ratio
1:50 (2%) with HUSQVARNA two-stroke oil.
1:33 (3%) with oils class JASO FB or ISO EGB formulated
for air-cooled, two-stroke engines.
