Hi Nick

Not something I'm aware of top of my head and I'm now away from the office and resources for a couple of weeks.

Had you come across this one by Kenton ?

http://www.treeconomics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/TPBEII-Paper-Rogers-01.pdf

Looks to have a useful reference list at the end that may offer some interesting avenues to explore. Have a great Christmas with the tribe. Speak soon, David

Hello James

Are you working for the FC ?

I do have some images of Massaria branches still within the canopy on infected Planes, (taken from the ground) but as such, the contrast isn't that good as the sky affects the image in most cases.

If you let me have your e-mail address I can send them through for you to have a look at.

regards

David

Hello Darran

Looks a bit more like Bjerkendera adusta (the smokey bracket) to me

Regards

David

  4.
Hi Marco, quite a lot of members are getting the same issue. Seems to be spam bots from a chinese IP address, there shouldn't be a pronlem with your account as long as you have a relatively secure password. I wouldn't worry about it, have a good trip. Regards David

  5.

Hello Marco

Sorry but I didn't get there, so can't really help you I'm afraid.

Regards

David

  6.

Than you

Glad to hear that they're appreciated

kind regards

Hello Sal

interesting situation/dilemma

I'm most certainly not a bee expert, but would think that it may be best to leave the hive section (although i like the idea of trying to resurrect it) so that they relocate naturally. (depending on alternative local suitable habitat)

I think you should put it up on the Forum, would make an interesting thread (or add it to one of the other existing bee threads)

May be worth PM'ing RDB logs as he has experience in moving bees

regards

David

  8.

Yes, yes, very good indeed.

Where did you come across it?

Went to see Edward Parker do a presentation on photographing trees at the RHS Lindley Library last month.

Fine evening, learnt a lot

Hello Jim

Thanks for getting in touch.

I have seen that video, I believe someone put a link up here to it a while back.

Unfortunately I missed the oportunity to see Mr Stamets talk when he was last here in the UK

Perhaps next time.

Do you get access to a wide variety of tree species to study the interaction of decay?

Regards

  11.
Good one, can barely even remember that thread. Will have to go and carve it into something now ! Lol

  12.

Howdee Pat, struggling to think of it tbh.

Soo many threads, sorry !

Happy chrimbo to you and yours.

D

  13. Cheers Adam, it was a really basic p-shop trial which ran out after 30 days.

Just b&w them, then used an eraser in the software to rub the colour back on the part of the image that I wanted to stand out.

Not sure if there are any additional shots in these threads or not.

    Glad you liked them

  14. I would of thought that there should be enough cambium available. Be intrigued to see how you get on. Hope you are going to document the process.

Have you tried having a chat with Gollum? He would appear to be At's grafting expert.

    Good luck with it.

  15. Your welcome.

I was only doing a bit on grafting at college yesterday so it was on my mind.

What species is the one you're thinking of doing Mat ?

  16. Hello Jules,

I don't recall having seen a Piptoporus betulinus (Birch polypore) on anything other than Birch.

I have seen the Oak Polypore on Oak (Piptoporus quercinus)

    Perhaps that's what you remembered?

    regards

    David

  17. Thanks Jeremy, haven't actually seen it yet myself. Hoping to get hold of a copy in the next day or so.

    David

  18. Would like to. If time allows we should try & make it happen.

Saw Gary (the guy who facilitated part of the Stav atf trip) at Santon on Friday.

Will try and chase access to stav down again.

  19. Hello Marco,

I'll keep an eye out for it & will pass it around for sure, thanks for the heads up.

    David

  20. Ta for posting, will play with these in me head when I've got a wet weekend at somepoint !

  21. Got it last week, looks like good bed time fodder :)

  22. That my friend is a fine heads up !

Have you spoken to Gerrit about this book ?

  23. No,

    A. fissilis not fruiting on any of the Trees it was on last year.

    & only 2 or 3 occurences of P. squarrosa.

But then I haven't been to as many sites as I had last year.

  24. Will be happy to hear from him, though having scan read the web site, it looks as if their fert/myco are specifically designed for urban street stressed trees. Ours are predominantly woodland/hedgerow trees with associations to their long standing specific woodland mycorrhyza.

Will be intesting to hear what type & species of mycorrhyza they use.

Dons name has thrown me tbh, I was born in Germany & don't recognise his surname as being German, nae worries

Have a good evening mate !

  25. Hello Drew,

it sounds like a very interesting proposal.

I really appreciate you passing on the info.

Will run it through a couple of people hear in London & will get back to you.

Out of interest, is Don German or just based there?

Was he running any treatment programs out in Singapore?

many thanks & have a great trip on the next expedition
