  1. I believe the Sordin Share are currently available. They do look like a really good product but they are really expensive though and not quite chipper spec at 28 SNR. The Cardo chip inside the Sordin’s and the associated Cardo software seem to provide some better features especially for large companies like the ability for team leaders to configure the settings for multiple units via a computer and disable some features like stopping crew members listening to music while the intercom is on. It would be great if the Stihl ProCOM could provided the option to configure multiple headsets like the Cardo based products can. http:// Sordin Share - Breaking teamwork barriers WWW.SORDIN.COM BREAKING TEAMWORK BARRIERS – Some professional teams need to stay in constant contact with each other to do their work safely and efficiently. Sordin Share is for them. With its built-in multiparty intercom capabilities, this state-of-the-art electronic hearing protector breaks teamwork barriers. It builds on DMC™, a proprietary mesh network technology that works everywhere – without the need for Internet access or a dedicated base station. There is simply nothing like Sordin Share today. http:// Talking Headsets WWW.TALKINGHEADSETS.CO.UK Secure group communications, designed for reliable team intercom, built to sustain harsh and demanding environments.
  2. Hi all, I just received a pair of the Stihl ProCOM. I can confirm that they do connect with other Sena devices with Mesh 2.0 capability (30k, 50s, TuffTalk M, +Mesh, MeshPort Blue, MeshPort Red). This is because the Stihl ProCOM headset is built on the Sena Mesh Module. I’ve been following the development of Bluetooth communication devices that can be used for arb work over the years and I think this is the best product that has been released so far. Especially for companies employing staff as it’s the first Bluetooth communication device that is fully compliant for arb work (including chipper noise). Here are some of the criteria that I have been looking for in an arb communication system: • Chipper spec ear defenders • Does not require PPE to be modified • Sound produced by the internal speakers is limited to 82dB • Ease of pairing with other crew members • Microphone can be muted • Communication isn’t interrupted if someone goes out of range • Durable cables • Durable charging port • Internal or slimline antenna • Affordable price The Stihl ProCOM meets all these criteria that I have been looking for except for affordable price. Hopefully in the not too distant future products like this will come down in price. The fact that both Sena and Cardo have made their Mesh modules available for other companies to incorporate them in products makes me hopeful that this will create a good amount of competition in this market and drive prices for these devices down. Some of the new products being released that incorporate the Cardo Crew Pro-1 mesh module are: • Sordin Share (unfortunately not chipper spec and almost twice the price of ProCOM) • JSP Sonnis Comms (long antenna, not sure of price yet) • Cardo Crew Comm-Set (long antenna, not sure if chipper spec and not sure of price yet) Hope this info is useful to some people. 3. This is the new Sena Tufftalk industrial bluetooth headset. The earmuffs on the helmet version only have a 22 decibel noise reduction rating so I don't know how good they will be for arb with out earplugs underneath. www.sena.com/product/tufftalk/
  4. Hi, I asked freeworker about this and they said that the Protos Bluetooth radio only connects between 2 people plus connecting your phone. I hope Sena does come out with an industrial model built into muffs!
  5. Hi Joe real nice video, the PDFs didn't work at first but they seem to open fine if you install Adobe Reader
  6. The current models of the Pinto and Pinto Rig both have been given a MBS rating of 50kN. Take a look at the 2012 DMM catalogue. Older versions had been rated for less.
