Hello all im after some some logs to make little stools out of (the kind you make at collage when practsing gob cuts) i am making 30ish for a local primary school, size wise about 12" diameter, longer the better but will take anything down to 12" in lenth i am based in shoreham-by-sea, west sussex and can collect from nearby. hard wood would be best and green is just fine ta all.
  17. do you have a price range in mind a good jacket i would say is £100-£150 so would be agood price to start at
  18. pioneering poles are just long skinny poles maybe 10-20cm by however long, used for making structures by tying them together with lashings. hear is two pics of my scout troup in frount of a structure thy made one camp the right side was a working cable car that transported kids to the top and left side was a water slide second pic is looking down the slide.
  19. take time to do it all properly plan ahead and keep all your kit neat and tidy. it may seam counterintuitive but if you do your 'housekeeping' climbing is so much easyer
  20. David it appears that you are confusing pollard with toping. they are quite different. Toping is the removal of larger limbs as you have mentioned and the pollard is the regular removal of young dynamic grouth. so i think its this ould confusion of words again. not having a dig just it tock a while for me too grasp aswel
