    <p>Dear Ed,</p>

    <p> </p>

<p>I note with interest you do not include the CS41 'aerial tree rigging' in either your essential nor desirable qualifications listing. </p>

<p>I'm guessing this is probably down to the terms / requirement of the contract, hence understandable, BUT be aware the HSE view it essentially as a mandatory qualification for those operatives undertaking what is rightly deemed to be a hazardous activity (hence we also view it the same for the ARB Approved Contractor Scheme.)</p>

    <p>Good luck with the recruitment.</p>

    <p>Regards,</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

<p>Hi Clive, Paul here from the Arboricultural Association.</p>

<p>Given the nature of the work, i.e. tree safety surveys, might I suggest you include the Lantra - Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) 'qualification', actually certification, which is increasingly becoming a recognised industry standard.</p>

    <p>Good luck with the post.</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  3.

<p>Hi Craig, take it you're referring to the Conference yeah? If so you'll have to speak to Simon (Richmond) as I'm not at the event this year coz doing APF later in the week.</p>

    <p>Cheers..</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  4.

<p>Hi there, unfortunately, unless you're in full time education, you cannot access Student Membership, sorry. 'Ordinary', or 'Associate' if you want the same member benefits, albeit more expensive, is the other option.</p>

<p>Re-ROLO courses, we have one at Stoneleigh Park (Kenilworth, s. Mids) on 9th Sept. Otherwise please email Tiffany, <a href="mailto:" rel="">[email protected]</a>, to register an interest and stating where you're based. Cheers, Paul</p>

  5.

<p>Hi Ian, it looks like you're getting this sorted elsewhere but if it doesn't transpire, and if you're an AA member, I'm sure we can help here. PM me directly.</p>

    <p>Regards..</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

    <p>Hi there, look here <a href="http://www.trees.org.uk/Directory-of-Arboricultural-Association-Registered-Consultants" rel="external nofollow">Directory of Arboricultural Association Registered Consultants</a> </p>

    <p> </p>

<p>My concern is that the situation you cite could become complex and hence tis better to engage someone to advise you from the outset. However as someone just posted, if you can establish the ownership issue, which is often easier said than done, that would be a big help.</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p>Regards..</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

<p>Nope, Polly has taken on that role, i.e. supporting the ArbAC Scheme, so ask Jess to transfer you...or probably Polly will answer the phone so 'vice versa)</p>

    <p>Cheers..</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  8.

<p>Hi Owen, your ArbAC status does not include the Arb Journals, and access to the archives, but your Prof Membership does. Hence please give Jess a ring 01242 522152 or email <a href="mailto:" rel="">[email protected]</a> to sort this for you.</p>

    <p>Cheers..Paul</p>

  9.

    <p>Where were you yesterday? :-(</p>

    <p>Only 6 turned up from 14</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  10.

<p>Hi James, your CertHE 'Arb' will certainly qualify you for Technician Membership is it is recognised at level 4 I believe and we only need level 3. However Prof. Member requires level 5.</p>

    <p>Hope this helps.</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  11.

<p>Hi Billy, there's one at Ashton Court (Bristol) but it's only in July I think, n poss. August, as SW is Region 9 of the ArbAC Directory which dictates the running order. </p>

<p>If you can 'pm' me I'll find out exactly where n when n let you know.</p>

    <p>Thanks for asking.</p>

    <p>Cheers..</p>

    <p>Paul</p>

  12.

    <p>HI, sorry, my 'in-box' was full...aghhh!</p>

    <p> </p>

<p>Can you please resend the 'pm'.</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p>Many thanks..</p>

    <p> Paul</p>

    <p>Hi Steve, hope you're well.</p>

    <p> </p>

<p>I've replied to your post on the 'R U an AA Member' n I'd appreciate it if you could repsond when / if you get a minute.</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p>Thanks mate.</p>

  14. Hi there (sorry, don't know who you are.)

Forgive me, I'm just being abit frivilous and I fully understad your desire to use the NPTC brand as you've invested much time, effort and money with them. In some respects I think you made the same mistake, but actually not, as I would in that you are trying to do things above board, and gud'on'ya for so doiing.

However, in practice, many, or most I would suggest, would actually simply copy the logo from C&G / NPTC website and post on theirs...they're highly unlikely to know or take action.

'Sods law' me thinks, try to do it right = obstacles, just crack on n do it = no problem.

    Good luck..

    Paul

  15. FLIP, sorry Mark, my eyesight's not what it used to be, and what a beautiful "DAUGHTER" she is...oops!

    Enjoy..

    Paul

  16. Hi Mark, 'HPN' too.

I'm still (very) 'unsavvy' when it comes to this forum, much to my personal annoyance. Did you email me about a box of 'Vin Rouge' I'd won in the raffle?

If so, it'd give me great pleasuer if you n ur missus'd drink it on my behalf to clelebrate the New Year n that grand little lad (hope I've got that right, sorry if not!) in ur photo.

    Cheers Mark.

    Paul (AA Teccie.)

  17. Tee hee, have you got pierced nipples or summat as that'd be a starter for ten.

DON'T WORRY...you'll be brilliant (otherwise we wouldn't have asked!) and we won't expect you to stray outside your comfort zone of knowledge....so by my reckonin that's pretty much anything we wanna throw at ya.

Jokin apart, THANK YOU and speak soon.

    Cheers mate..

    Paul

  18. Mr Croft...hope yer well mate!!!

A date fer yer diary, if yer up frit (sincerly HOPE SO!), but yet to be confirmed: 'ARB Fest' 6-7-8 July to speak on 'trees n fungi'...so better gen up (ha...'cheeky bugger!")

    Cheers mate..

    Paul

  19. Hi Steve, hope yer well mate!

Interesting that post you put on the forum recently(ish) about "not posting recently, has work been keeping you busy?", which seems to have gone to several subscribers...is this a subtle way of getting increased 'hits' to the forum or am I being overly analytical? If so I'm intrigued as I need to establish a way of getting more hits on the 'Approved Contractors', thereby increasing the scheme profile, so they see greater benefit in joining.

Also, not that I particularly want to 'sign off' but I'm concerned it may appear I'm there when I'm not, I seem unable to do so as the 'HOME' link just directs me to 'FORUMS'...or is this another cute move....please tell!

    Cheers mate.

    Paul

  20. Steve, hope yer well mate.

Sorry to bother you but a thread I had running seems to have been locked out, see http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/aa/33951-ne-region-arbac-la-nominations.html#post550076

Can you shed any light on why I can't reply?

Thanks in anticpation and apologies if I've inadvertently posted inappropriately or something.

    Cheers..

    Paul

  21. Steve, sorry, not quite sure where I'm posting this!

You're probably aware that we produce a consumer leaflet, kinda, titled 'Choosing Your Arborist' (see aa_choosing_your_arborist_2011-lr.pdf ) which may be suitable to consider for inclusion on your website (it doesn't only promote 'ArbACs' by any means.)

    Cheers..

    Paul

  22. Likewise Tony, and THANK YOU for your contribution to the pruning slide...very vauable as always.

Hope to see you at the Capel bash, one way or't'other...speak to me if there's a problem.

    Cheers..

    Paul

  23. HI John, hope yer well!

Hopefully this link will take you there.. Arboricultural Association | Facebook

    Cheers..

    Paul

  24. Yep, that's what I thought we said it was on looking at the 'Manual Wood Decay in TRees' book (Matheck) back at the office....penny just dropped, but of course that's not Maze Gill whihc occurs on Oak, (another) good point Matthew, gud'on'ya!

Was good to meet you too, you've got a real good knowledge level, keep it going...sorry about the previous Fountains thing!

    Have greta weekend.

    Paul

  25. Hi Ben, thanks for posting back.

To be honest the general info on the AAAC (Arb. Assoc. Approved Contractor) scheme isn't yet available for download from the AA website in part as we like to know who's expressing an interest and what more we can do to help. That said the current standards (qualifying criteria) are available (see Find a professional and view the blue 'contractor' link button in bold text near the bottom of the page.)

Also please giev Tiff a call at Head Office, 01252 522152, and tell her your contact details and she'll pop an info pack in the post to you (or let me know here and I'll tell her.)

    Thanks again..

    Paul
