  2. I worked for some local companies last year and couldn't raise more than £65 a day, now i'm back S/E i earn more cutting grass and the last couple of tree jobs i did pulled in 150-200 for half a days work. Its turned into a mugs game IMO
  3. Thanks anadromous. When doing storm resilience i had extra kit provided to me by hi-line. I dont personally own a saw to drop a large tree as yet. I can do any climbing if you have any or be an extra pair of hands. Number is 07971680188

  4. Mr Oseroo, I got some work on near Looe, Wednesday/ Thursday this week. Possibly running into next week. Sounds like your exp with hiline on the storm resilience might help on this job! Powerlines not involved, but hefty beech in tight woodland needing precision felling. PM me if you are available. No ones mentioned ProArb, I've seen their teams venturing south of the Tamar lately, they pay better than Hiline and they're recruiting climbers and team leaders...UA not my scene either though!
  5. Larch have gone a bit short on the ground!!
  6. I used to know a fisherman who would throw the undersize bass overboard before coming into rye harbour then pick them up whilst he was digging lug on the winchelsea beach. He sold to pubs in Rye, reckoned the bass were a better size for the pub meals than the legal size fish. I believe they were gillnetted so were dead anyway.
  7. I think i know the dealer in Devon, My Local. They are selling some good looking Japanese power tools without postage restrictions i believe. checkout tanaka and shin daiwa
  8. I think the cultivated variety is known as Enoki and the wild one as Nametake! i saw in a previous thread you mentioned you'd grown some oysters on logs, I've just started some Shiitake on Beech logs- hoping for some success in a years time!
  9. I'm not sure if stem injection guns are suitable for woody tissue, the hole is in the side of the needle so that the end doesn't get blocked. I am only aware of their use for hollow stemmed plants such as Jap knotweed. Hatcheting into the cambium would be more suitable for trees and shrubs. PA1/6 would cover their use and is essential for buying the glyphosate- no doubt if their use increased there would soon be a cert to cover it!
