  1. Hi Clark/Aaron, I've been with these guys coming up for 5 years in July. I always shop around for a better deal but they always seem to beat everyone else's prices. When my renewal is due from them (I guess in the next few weeks) I normally pop on here to see if any other companies are being spoken about and then I saw your post! Guessing they're still pretty good. Out of interest, how much cover did you take and how much was it? I have £1M cover which was about £220 last year but thinking of upping it to £5M because I'm starting to do some bigger jobs recently.
  2. Been going for 4 years now. My public liability insurance has been going down since I took it out in 2009 up until this year where it went up by a whole £3!!! When I spoke to my broker to query the "non-discount" they were really helpful in explaining. Told me that it's actually quite unusual for liability insurance to go down as much as mine has the last few years as most people start off with all the maximum discounts possible (i.e. several years experience, several years with no claims). Mine was getting cheaper each year as I started off with little experience/history behind me. Now I've got to 4 years, my discounts are at a maximum and my premium has now stabilised as such. I've shopped around anyway so know that this is the best price. I guess that is all that matters really. The impression I got is that insurance prices fluctuate regardless of discounts, etc. so just shop around each year to check you are paying the going rate!
  3. Just started getting my first few quotes for public liability insurance as I'm new to the trade. Didn't realise how expensive it was!!! There are some companies that seem cheaper than others for the same or similar cover. Arbinsure weren't the most competitive price for me but I guess it is all down to the personal questions that we answer. Definitely worth spending an hour or so having a shop around.
