  1. Good job, well done. On the beers now?
  2. I'm think the issue here is the press bit really, and I'm not sure what's going on there Tbh. Wrt using a MEWP I've just quoted a large job where I believed a MEWP is required due to the condition of the tree, I expect at least one of the other firms quoting will quote for climbing. So what? Well, we've both risk assessed the tasks using our knowledge and experiences and arrived at different conclusions. If he wins good on him, if I win the job I'm happy, but I'm not going to compromise my safety or that of my employers needlessly (which I think climbing may well do). Of course the MEWP I use may fall over or such... As long as you can honestly justify YOUR decisions and course of action if there is an accident, then that's fine by me.
  3. Thanks Andrew Gale. I'll try them.
  4. I struggle with the idea of conducting (serious) first aid in the tree. Applying a CAT yes I get that as a good shout. But applying celox, I'm not so sure you could apply it properly on yourself on the ground due to the pain (maybe I'm a wimp) let alone in the tree. The first tenant if first aid is remove from danger, there get on the deck. As already said I keep having on harness first aid kits breaking free. Just my thoughts.
  5. This. What case have you got?
  6. All of the above makes it very difficult protecting your kit. Unfortunately, career Crick's are hard to defeat, but try we must. I don't know what other people's experiences with using the 101 number, but I've found it great and use it every time suspicious happens and we already get a uniformed visit and a follow up. It ask helps (I hope). Don't let the bastards get us down
  7. Sheeple, really! You used the Daily Mail to back up your argument! Then berate people's intelligence, while suggesting your are superior. Oh and you spell 'kn*b' with a K' 😂😂😂 Sorry if this thread has got back on track...
  8. Agreed, if someone starving in this country we need to have a look at ourselves, but sometimes (often perhaps) people find themselves if this situation and if they must steal surely they should nick food not kit! Most kit is stolen by scrotes, nothing to do with politics or out right poverty. And I'd have no trouble defending my family and our income against these scum. It's the only time agree with Saudi - chop their hands off.
  9. Good job we don't who you are. If your family was starving ste al food not my livelihood. Benefit cuts most likely have nothing to do with this or many kit thefts. Think it through. Anyone tries to nick anything from my place and I catch them someone's going down big time, might be me but I'll be fighting as I go down. Those who have been robbed have my best wishes. It would cripple my business and their my family. Sorry of living in a situation like Syria can't ever see a time I'd be stealing - I can't abide it.
  10. Yeah it was go ape. It wasn't in use when the tree went over, good thing really. I left the site manger up a tree with a torch inspecting it to see if he could open tomorrow. In the end I dominoed 4 trees then severed the stump. Was good fun.
  11. Was on a first aid course today so was expecting an easy day. We had a call to deal with this. Interesting end to the day. There's some video on Facebook, but I can't lift them off!
  12. Just for balance: I never tidy my boots away, but leave them by the fire. By Christ I get told off every day!
  13. I think the payload is going to be pretty low on that, would need a tipping trailer behind it (if you're allowed).
  14. What he said. I've got both (well 660) and we use it all the time the 880 hardly ever goes out.
  15. Ha ha, brilliant. Loving that chipper. Do you feed it with crane?
  16. That's a lot of chipper for 1800kg, I like it. Does it throw chip the length of your chip box when on the draw bar? I'm still winding what to do with my truck...
  17. Joe, I've got a fairly comprehensive rigging kit, and it doesn't get used that much. Buy it as you need it or give me a bell of your caught out...
  18. We talked about making tip, not sure we'd use it so still undecided.
