  1. Does anyone have a toolbox talk template, or have one covering the use of tractors in Arb or flailing? I normally send the FCA website but it's down now! Tia Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. How do you get on without the operator being protected from debris? I've had to put a film on my windows... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. How do you get on with that grab compared to a traditional log grab? I was think of getting on to replace my current grab. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Seriously good kit, but I'm a bit disappointed with the build quality. Still cracking though Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Yes it's the av98x. Awesome bit of kit. Where are you? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. I've got an Etisia AX98 4WD mower it's really good and gets into really tight places where you'd never get a tractor. Highly recommend them. Definitely not a replacement for a tractor, but compliments one well. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Bump, and an impressive thread revival! Basically, as the OP, anyone got one I could have a look at please? Thank you Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Same, on 2 separate occasions. No problems charging, but just let us know up front! I think a little bit of right hand left perhaps. Anyway SDL have taken loads of my waste through our local estate, so good on them👍 Sent from my MotoG3 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. The whole planning system is terrible and poorly staffed. I had a developer phone and ask me to drop a few poplars asap. No problems, a call to the TO - all clear no TPOS not in a CA. So I phone the developer and book them in for the following week. 10 mins later, TO calls "there's an issue with the trees, they're part of an on going planning application. Can you phone the planning officer". Which I then did. Long story short, the LPA don't want the trees felled until the application has been decided (why...?). So I call the developer and say there's a delay blah blah, confusing, best get on to your Planning consultant and let me know what you want to do (the risk being having to resubmit the plans and drawings at cost). The best bit was that the LPA had requested that the developer felled the trees and then effectively said their planning application would be void of they did as they were requested! With hind sight I should have just got on with it, would have been a good day in the office... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Exactly what I'm going to do! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Already got a chain skirt, it's the stumps and rocks etc. Not a great deal of ground clearance, but a great deal of delicate stuff to smash. And I know myself- I could break a ball bearing! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Kilworth are excellent it has to be said. Now I've got my mulcher fitted OK without any mods, I'm going to get some plates welded to the winch, job done. Now for fitting some under body protection, the mulcher doesn't half chuck stuff about!
  13. I might have a look at that, how did it cost? Always the first question 😉 Still got to sort out why the arms aren't lifting to Thier full potential, hopefully have the relief valve off tomorrow. Sent from my MotoG3 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Not long since got a BCS Volcan 750 and having nay of the teething problems mention in this thread. How did people get on with extended arms? Not sure whether to extend the arms, or adapt the winch (Igland 3501). It will also be running VM180 Flail. Not sure which way to go, I'll try the flail tomorrow and see how the shaft fits before committing to anything!
  15. As above really, I'm after a second hand caged rotator flail about 1.8m cut. Struggling to find any in the net, anyone got or know of one for sale? Tia Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Finally got around to getting a tractor, a BCS 750 RS, which I am very happy with, I would have liked more HP but couldn't find any... Anyway, the 3tpl arms are very slow and won't lift any significant weight. I will check the hydraulic pressure in the week when I can get a gauge. The arms lower ok (as far as I can tell having never use one before). It has the proportional control joystick and i am confident that the electronics work on all the services. So my thoughts are there's a safety valve that has stuck or there's a response valve which i can't find. Given the arms lower ok, sort of rules out mechanical stiffness (I think). I should mention that the tractor has had a side arm flail on it for the last 8 years during which time it has only done 500hrs (wish i work for the EA)! Any thoughts? TIA
  17. Good description of how deterrent works, and works everyday. Just think Bay of Pigs, Cuba and now Russian expansionism. I think the deterrent (not offensive capability hence why we don't have tactical nuclear weapons) is as important now as it ever was. As for fighting terrorism you need an holistic approach accross a wide range of functions but most importantly a political will to win and pay in both blood and treasure... 18. What would you say is the minimum hp required for mulching. I was planning on using it for a range of tasks , mulching being the most demanding. Sent from my MotoG3 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. That's what I thought a protective screen as a minimum. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Does anyone run an alpine and mulcher similar to that in the video at the link? If so what are the health and safety implications of of having a cab. Will wearing a helmet, visor etc suffice, or is a cab essential? I am pretty sure no helmet is just foolhardy. Cheers Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. If you put through a processor will it come out in one person portions? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. I wonder if that would work on hardwood? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. I kind of think the OP would complain whatever, 20 years without being satisfied... Or it's made up of course, anyone want some imported logs😉 Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Thanks Steve, well done. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. If you want the tree down speak to the snow. When they say not our problem, which they will. Get a decent tree contractor to sort everything out, it's what you pay for. Let them deal with shut downs/ line drops etc. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
