  1. The City & Guilds Work based diploma is more than just an accumulation of nptc units. It is a credit based qualification but is backed up by a portfolio of work alongside a minimum of delivered classroom delivery and guided learning hours. For more information call Linda Hope @ Capel Manor she can give you ALL the ins and outs
  2. Manor farm. easy to find drive onto the Island through the bends upto the first roundabout turn right and the farm entrance is on your right
  3. There s a site on Hayling Island but they do charge. About £34 a ton
  4. They do a drive in drive out service
  5. Paddington Springs Wembley
  6. Ring Trevor or Malcolm @ Westcon equipment, they will be able to help you.
  7. The question is how often is the path used by how many, my initial thought is to leave it as it is. What is the likelihood of it failing and hitting someone ?
  8. Check that the seam is not overly worn. ime people leave them running on the floor and wear down the alloy same with the oil tank. If you re unsure about disassembly take photos as you go
  9. Dave how do you jack up the from suspension ?
  10. Core Core core. Martial arts ( I do Taekwondo ) but any Art which involves stretching will help esp with the back
  11. Ring Trevor or Malcolm at Westcon equipment they will be able to give you the information you need
  12. If there are no targets why not just leave them to do their thing ?
  13. I use video pad. Very simple to use
  14. My understanding of this is it will be launched at the new entrants into Arb, not us old codgers. I gave a grilling to one of the panel who gave a talk to our committee about this scheme. He answered me with " If we want our industry to get government funding/recognition in the future we as an industry HAVE to develop this. Failure to do so is not an option." I have seen many changes in the last 25 years most good some not so. But change is inevitable. If we refuse to support the principle behind the work these guys are doing we risk jeopardising the forward momentum WE have made as an industry in the recent past. Agreed tree work will continue and some will be good and some will be down right awful, but will we be recognised as the highly skilled and dedicated professionals we are ?? AA, ISA, ICF in or out it doesn't matter.
  15. Unfortunately not, I have some work in central London on that day. Lovely Thai green curry yesterday!!!!
  16. half decent food in the canteen though
  17. Sub it to me mate. I ll sort it for you
  18. I took so long to type others got there first DOH
  19. You ve opened a can of worms here. I ll be the first to bite. Cs units are certs of competence to use equipment or carry out an activity. I often see "Fully Qualified " on adverts and web pages, and they refer to their NPTC s. when I see Fully qualified I think 'When and where did you get your Phd ?' In answer to your question Yes you can call yourself a Tree Surgeon. In the same way some who has just passed their driving test is a qualified driver, experience now thats a different matter.
