I'm pretty sure with how you surveyed your span the cutting team would of gone home safe that night. Hardly a critical fail!

I assigned eleven men to the job for 3 spans of LV and 2.5 spans of hv.Anymore would have been dangerous.Thats why we offered a generator.

I explained it in depth with him but he didn't get it.

Hi Folks
I sat my ua5 surveyors course yesterday.I sailed through 5.2 but failed 5.1 as I plotted one tree on my sketch plan wrongly(silly mistake) and indicated that all the work was to be done dead.No excuse for the first mistake but I feel theres a grey area on the second issue.A few large trees were present on site with included bark and dangerous overhangs plus a few more CAT A trees which required an outage. There were also a few CAT B and D trees on site.I identified the correct categories for each tree but decided to do the whole job dead.(This was because the assessor wanted all the arisings removed from this woodland site and I thought the extra staff required to remove the arisings could undertake the other work whilst climbers/mewp operators could do the definite outage trees. These lads would be on site anyway but would not be able to remove arising until the others had finished dismantling the overhanging tree. With this scenario there would be no increase in customer hours/minutes lost from outage.)The assessor stated that the power to his house could not be off for more than an hour so I asked for a generator to be supplied.I was told that it was unacceptable to do the whole job dead although it would take no longer than the original outage work. This contravenes the Electicity at work Regs(Reg 14) in my opinion.I would be happy to hear anyones view on this, for or against.
Thanks:001_smile:

I use a silicone gun to fill the bolt heads with white silicone which saves alot of time picking the crap out.The silicone comes out easily with a pin or similar and prevents the bolts rounding.

Possibly blossom wilt on the prunus.

Hi all
I have half a knapsack sprayer full of diluted glyphosate which has been stored in my garage since last Autumn. Will it still be affective or does the active ingredients diminish over time.

04.30 to midday shift works for us although its only practical in remote areas and can be difficult to maintain over long periods of time.

Keep the blades sharp and they are fantastic machines.Maintenance is everything, even more so on small chippers.I had a new 125 for 5 years with no problems.I traded it in for a Greenmech 130 and although this is a great machine too I still miss the manoeuvrability and ease of access of my 125.
