swazi all the way, but you will have to spend 200 quid, will last for years, puts up with all the hawthorn jagy stuff and doesnt rip, nice and long so covers your arse, good for tucking under harness.

my first car was a yellow metro van, you could get 11 people in it nae bother. i painted the bumpers orange and the wheel rims red. noddy van i used to drive it with ear muffs coz the wheel bearings were so pumped. it took some beating.

superb, my boy got his first wee stihl when he was still in his mummy, he has now upgraded to the one in the picture, does your wee one prefer the stihl or would he like to try out a husky, because i heard they were better. lol

thats the one, it is a AUER i got it from acprice. You would be better coming over to mine and see it work. (ferry costs)it is excellent on the right stuff If you go into my album you will see it on a large piece of lime, i am really busy next week, but the week after would be fine, it would be nice to meet you and share some stories. the kettle is always on my friend. Stevie I am sure we could come to an arrangement with each others kit, as i dont have a processor.

i used to have a small skidsteer. excellent tool for round the yard and loading pickups. I demod the bobcat tracked one. seriously awesome. That is on my wish list as well. I found once you started loading trailers and pickups with minidiggers,skidsters etc. They would carry the weight but i soon wrecked floors and sides.

thou shall always leave trail of chip from overloaded mog just in case you get lost and need to find your way back thou must be black belt in "vanfoo"if a fight breaks out in vehicle and you want to join in. This is the art of driving with knees and elbows while squeazing the life out of other lads, but be prepared for middle guy to go for the baws.I recommend all round trouser protection for combat wear.

What if you sat an hgv?only reason i am asking, did you guys see the huge band saw at the apf that was towed by a dually with a generator on the back. It must have been easy 50 feet long all together and what kind of weight would be in the genny alone. Beautiful piece of kit:001_smile:

I have a log cracker on my roofmount, that i use to break down trunks to approx 8-10" and 8' long , the timber isnt round but more sqaure. Will this do through a firewood processor:001_smile:

I can see where you are coming from andy, if we all worked together and helped each other out it would be great. We all have good stories and bad stories about our experience with other cutters, but we shouldnt let the bad ones stop us giving others a chance. imo

hi steve, get the sky guy in. i did once and he still turns out wee jobs for me, cutting back branches for dishes. a really good contact, because sky dont have this service as far as i know. They are usually 100quid silky jobs, the best! And debris straight into refuse bin. Everyone is a winner.

these are great ideas, and even though they seem expensive, looked after it will last you 10years, but it is the whole weight issue as Steve said. Am i right in thinking that American pickups are allowed to tow a serious amount more.

dont want to cross thread, but i get called in from the council 2-3 times a year to remove a rope swing, it must be up about 50 feet on a monster oak full of regrowth(you know what a nightmare that is)it is deemed a safety issue. If i could find the wee lad that keeps putting one back up, what a climber. takes me a good 20 mins to get to it, its about 20 feet out a monster limb i have to come down on to it from a higher point. cutting my way along with silky
