  1. unbelievable, that has got to be the best crazy sport yet.
  2. i wish i had a better camera, that was just from one of the houses. the view goes all the way round to the left for as far ar your eye can see. i cut the tops off the guys 3 posts that made up the fence as they spoilt his view. the guy has just started working from home . he was delighted. without exageration bbb i bet they did put 10k on their houses today
  3. its cowal dave, just up a bit up the coast from bute. that is dunoon and the mountains in the back ground are looking west. with the holy loch straight ahead. thats where the american nato base was for 20 odd years. if you remember the pics i put up before with the reflection on the loch, which was loch eck at the foot of those mountains
  4. i never took any mate sorry, to be honest it wasnt pretty. nothing could be removed off site, so it is a big banking of brash and stumps:001_smile:
  5. why are some folk so lazy and selfish:thumbdown:good job mate:001_smile:
  6. i heard the sharks ate all the crocs:scared1:never been mate, but have a blast. if you have time i would jump over to nz, now that would be awesome:001_smile:
  7. how long have you been in the arb game blakes?
  8. cheers for that mate, i would love to go to sweden. a family holiday that could tie in a wee woodcutting show would be awesome:001_cool:
  9. i cleared some scrubby trees today for 4 houses.they had never seen their view before as they all moved in about 3 years ago. the houses are about 20 years old the banking infront of their houses dropped about 50 feet very steeply, so you can imagine the hieght the mix of sycamore, birch and willow were. i think they will be happy when they get home tonight after being stuck in their offices all day:thumbdown:
  10. last week mick:sneaky2::001_tongue:just checked out flights, the only one i can get is wed morning but alexander has his nursery sports day, so i cant miss that. i will go in 4 years to the next one:001_cool:
  11. i really want to go, where do you fly too and where is the best place to stay. any help appreciated thanks
  12. the last time my mum was on site, i was sectioning this huge horrible limb on a hc over a fence and riding paddock. she turned up with a flask and a box of home made goodies:001_smile:. when i came down, her first words were 'why are you cutting it all in silly little bits, just cut it off in a oner':ohmy:made me feel a right little girl.
  13. i have just purchased a lovely little chipper off ebay, i paid 1650 quid for it, i just want to turn it round and make a 100quid. 1750 secures only joking john boy:001_tongue:
  14. is it on??i thought it was next year:confused1:
  15. some folk are just better that it than others, it is not written in stone that every tree climber must get hurt. i have spent my life climbing things, i lived in a big private estate with no other kids but plenty of freedom. people ask my mum 'dont you worry about stevie up there' she just smiles and says 'why' i have terrified the life out of that little woman since i was alowed out to play, she just had to let me get on with it because the more she tried to stop me the higher i would go for a wind up. my nephew was 5 yesterday. you will never see a more natural athlete than this lad. he has been playing with older boys in his estate for the last 3 years, he does what they do but better. he was doing back flips, summersaults on a trampoline yesterday. he could ride a bike before he was 3. he doesnt do it recklessly, he is naturally good at it. the 2 nieghbours that owned the trampoline are both PE teachers. they cant wait for him to start school. i bet i could give him a silky now and he would do just fine:001_cool:
  16. the first top i ever took out a tree was with a silky about 5 inches across, the hinge was perfect because i made myself practice with saplings at waist level trying out variations. but it got caught up, the but flew like a pendulum and the tips came crashing down on me knocking my hat off. i learnt a valuable lesson that day and never messed up since. now i use that technique to my advantage but wise enough to get my head out of the way.
  17. dont think that way john, if you are not fast you are last mate. get bidding. or keep your money and buy brand new. take a little finance, keep your cash flow good, tax down and have a reliable machine. doesnt matter how frsh it looks, it is old so probs will occur and if you are not mechanically minded it will cost you in the long run.
  18. john boy, spending the wonga so lavishly. tommer drives a landy so hasnt ever reached back to the future speeds, but he is a miserable cornwallian so it must be ok. does look really narrow, but you run a narrow unit so would tie in nicely. and at that kind of money you couldnt really go wrong. imo
  19. i know what you meant mate, but i am that quick by the time old hucky babes bounces off the front of the mog in the winch deathslide i had rigged for him, i would of pinched his lovely sawpod fleece that is so rightfully mine:sneaky2:
  20. tickets shmickets:thumbdown:be in charge of your own life. if you are aware of the consequencies, death and a wife with no husband and kids with no daddy. you will work safe. it doesnt matter if you are dead but legally covered because you are dead. i never leave any worker alone, i have held myself back in expanding my business because i worry too much about employees. i dont worry about myself because i am in charge, i dont climb with my eyes shut. i know what i am doing. what if what if. not interested. just eliminate the IF. arogance to sum sense to others.
  21. the right handed index finger pull up, 400 every morning before breakfast. to properly deligate and give orders you must have a very strong pointy finger:001_cool:
  22. please feel free to start a thread about this kev, i have been doing trees locally from since i was about 14, from the good old days of a bmx and a bushman to what i do now. i see pruning cuts that i thought were text book now rotten cavities from 10 years ago and horrible nugy cuts as a boy that have heeled amazingly to the point where the tree has covered the whole thing up(beech) sometimes i think leaving a little peg is safer in the long run, although it has been drummed into us that it is unsightly:confused1:
