  2. i am off to the ostio tomorrow for a lttle service. my back is great as long as i go to the gym and do a warm up and my exercises. if not i am seized up all day. so much better though after a gym session
  3. i will need a few days to track the guy down who knows the guy if you know what i mean, i will text him just now
  4. get some ice on it andy and maybe take an ibuprofen to get the swelling down. hope it gets better soon big chap
  5. PLAYING!!!i do believe i was the only one to pick all the bits up and josh thought he was an extra in mad max beyond the thunderdome, he nearly rolled it:lol:oh and it was about 13k i think:thumbdown:
  6. we use the blower for blowing off the rain too andy also for keeping bees and wasps away when you annoy there nests in summer time. always put through a bushy bit last in the chipper, never just a stick. one little woodchip can be enough to stop the machine flywheel turning from cold. if your flywheel freezes in winter pour boiling water down the spout.
  7. you are getting worse jonesy The eyeballing game
  8. i can get you a number of a guy with a woodmizer. i think he is about 400 a day
  9. just get the biggest winch you can get your hands on and the biggest strops as well. can you be 100% sure of the weights and angles, where is the root plate going to go once you have pulled it over(i presume its windblown)
  10. hi mate, this does seem like a wind up by a professional tbh because it sounds so daft, why dont you just put your postcode up, one of the lads on here will be close and will nip over and give you a quote. if you know what you are doing a gum tree is a doddle at the size you are talking about, but what makes it easy for us will make it very difficult for you. the make up of the wood can make it very brittol and it can snap early. tying ladders to trees isnt cool either. if anyone on here says its cool to do it then the owner(steve bullman) will have a heart attack coz you could end up in hospital and he will go to jail.
  11. i take it thats a defender back on it, looks crap
  12. 2.97 here. had 3 attempts now. got the circle perfect. woo hoo
  13. nice on john, will need to watch that later
  14. i have pretty crap circulation, i dont know if it is white finger or what but even as a kid my hands would go a funny colour, i think its called reenos or something, my mum gets it. i am never cold, as long as i am moving i can wear a t shirt all year round, but my feet and hands go numb just sitting in the house. i shall maybe give this a try. robert if you fancy a good pair of boots then the new stretch air ones are in a league of their own mate, i wear light sport socks with mine.
  15. the birch logs look great, we used to split them in half and bore holes in them for candles and a bit of tinsel at school. i would go up the woods with my dad as a kid and he would cut one down and log/split it for my class. sorry cant help john but i love a little story lol
  16. i only know about the faffing about because i thought i was being clever and stuck the sling miles up on the ground and then started climbing arm over arm, then i realised i couldnt reach the knot, i was told about this by steve and matt at capel but i just got excited, i had to climb up about 30 feet until i got to the first limb until i managed to strop on and sort it all out:blushing:
  17. defo a big thanks to monkeyd, i now have the fungis fettish, not that bothered about the names but i just like finding them. oh and for always taking time for a chat at the shows. cheers
  18. it must take some load pete surely, and if it breaks and the sling moves away then how are you going to get it back without a lot of faffing about and if you were hanging then you are going to pretty stuck if you cant get your strop round the stem or branch
  19. definately throw that little biner away mate, i use 2 oval crabs, i dont bother with a sling or prusik for an extension, i just put a spike in the rope and clip into that.
  20. i am struggling a bit with the vt and getting grip on the rope, since you lock off with your arm straight up, i must get a pair of those light grippy gloves
  21. i spent 3 hrs on 1 limb before with an 088 over 4 garden fences. i cut the slices about 2 inches thick, there was no way of lowering it with out half a dozen guys, and ropes and pulleys everywhere. so i just disced the lot. there was over a hundred of them. nearly everyone on the estate took one for their garden. sweet
  22. just cut them smaller dean save carrying manky old tyres about lol. i have seen me discing down 4 foot dinner plates before at an angle and they just slide straight off.
  23. who took the pics on the job dave, really clear. i am surprised at you wearing gloves, dont you find them a pain with the prussik??
  24. lol, aloe vera do a really good cream that you rub in and it heats up like ralgex i used to use it years ago, excellent for the cold winter mornings.
