  2. Hi everyone Anyone got any recommends for good non-snagging and minimal taggling throwline and a good flipline? Thanks Gale
  3. Hi Tom,

I was wondering if there was any possibility in another Scotland get together - I couldn't make the last one, but it seems to have gone well from what I have seen. I know everyone'll be busy and so will you with a new wee one (congrats by the way), but maybe for the summer?

I'm happy to help if and where I can.

Hope to hear from you soon,

    Gale

  4. Hi again,

Thanks for the info - your stuff does sound really interesting so I'd be happy to lend a helping hand. I've also got a friend doing the NC Conservation and moving onto the HND Forestry at SSF that I know would definitely be interested in it too, so I'll make sure she gets her arse on this forum! Things at ssf are much as they ever were - I'm doing the arb HND and am really enjoying it, but want to get doing some practical stuff again - I'm getting a bit stir crazy just doing Health & f*cking Safety assignments - aarrgghh! Anyway, speaking of which, best get back to my risk assessment ... thanks again and hopefully meet you at some point in the near future :)

  5. Hi

I think you sent me a pm through the weekend, I managed to delete it before answering!

I don't employ anyone, but try highland forestry, he's always looking for folk.

How things at SSF, I can't remember from your pm what course you are doing. it's an excellent college, I'll have to finnish of my HND at somepoint[forestry] , been too busy workin, and can't really afford to stop working!

All my work just now is conservation/environmental type, bird and vegetation surveys as well as capercailie work, if you're interested in that kind of thing give me a shout.

Also try Ranald MacConnachie, someone at ssf will have his number.

  6. Hi Dr Sylvestris!

My name is Gale Ward (aka Climbing Lass) and am contacting you basically because I'm looking for some work experience/ climbing practice/ general arb experience (or environmental destruction!). I'm doing an HND in Arboriculture & Urban Forestry at the Scottish School of Forestry and will be doing my basic chainsaw in a few weeks, so I appreciate I'm probably not too much use until I have that, but I'm willing to do anything to get some experience and generally make some contacts. Could you either make use of me or point me in the direction of some that could? I've got my own chainsaw (Stihl ms260 16" bar) and my own harness and also my own transport if that makes me a slightly more attractive prospect! Thanks for your time.

    Kind regards,

    Gale Ward
