  1. I used to get really angry, either fear anger or trying to be quick anger? Now I've chilled out a bit with a few token swear words. I've never been mega fast but I'm at a point of not having anything to prove, I know what I can do and we'll get done what gets done (usually the right amount). On srt more now too, which can be a relief for the joints but also enjoy the job for having to think slightly differently.

  2. Purchased mine in august and had to take it back as it wasn't idling properly especially after cutting through a limb. Waited 8 weeks and not found out what the problem is so gave me a new saw and mine has gone back to japan apparently. It wasn't abused and not worked too hard as have a ms150 so a bit disappointed, will see how this one fares

  3. 6th place went to a 50 yr old who is knocking out 10/11 second climbs and George who's 82 still manages a sub 30. I understand what you mean though, problem with the public is they have to learn to spike and then normally just get pulled up the tree by belayers when they gaff out and it's a tiring enough job keeping up with the fast guys over three days

  4. Sorry bob only just read the thread, Yorkshire is run by different people to the husqvarna sponsored events. I know it's a bit late but best contact the organisers to find out how to enter. I didn't make it as Kent was closer and couldn't really enter both. Good to see you at woodfest phil and glad you enjoyed it, we are a pretty friendly and relaxed bunch. Hope to see you at APF

  6. I have only entered the one isa comp up in Bedfordshire a few years back and had a good time despite getting my throw line stuck and having to go up at the end of the day to get it down and de-rig the tree. Was great to meet people and seeing plenty of techniques and realising the aerial rescue was harder than I thought, key thing is to have a good plan. Throughout the year I tend to prefer entering the pole climbing as it's a bit more relaxed and it's not just one shot and that's it, especially with three climbs a day. I know the two aren't really comparable but we tend to get quite a good turnout 20+ at some shows. I have had busy weekends on the past couple isa shows which was annoying as the highclere one was just up the road but would have entered if I could go with some mates. I think I would really be up for volunteering though if there is ever a need for such help.
