  1. I've never used one but have heard some good things about them. Have they got heavier flywheels or something?
  2. Thanks fellas. I'll let you know how I get on.
  3. AS always Joe, try before you buy. My carbon fibre Geckos are well comfy, but some wear and tear issues have been highlighted on this site. Mine are going well after 11 months and I wear them down the pub and everything.
  4. Frank our set-up's are frighteningly similar. So is our takedown methodology by the sound of things! You need a long extension cable for the bigger stuff though, don't you?
  5. Petzl Sequoia 25m Yale Blaze VT with hitchclimber (yellow and black 10mm cord - can't remember name) 3.5m strop with spliced eye, ISC rope grab ART ropeguide or Komet cambium saver Gecko carbon fibre spikes 20' ladder
  6. Sorry, last should read rakings and cord. Trying to type and cook tea. Not good. I'll put my steak in the kettle in a minute....
  7. Is there a council run place somewhere over Croydon way? Probably 1 tranny load of chips, 1 load of rakings and brush.
  8. Profiteering swine. I will defect to McCulloch if they are not careful. And they still can't be arsed to make a decent bar cover for the bigger saws.
  9. I have a favour job to do for a mate who lives in Raynes Park, near Wimbledon. Bit off my usual patch, and will probably produce 2 truckloads of conifer, which I don't really want to have to run back down to Kent. Does anyone know of any tipping sites in the area? And how much would they charge?
  10. Called in today, told the management team (two ladies) what the situation was, gave them a card, advised them to contact TO for second opinion (it is actually heaving more than I first thought). They sort of said thanks, and that they would pass my comments on to the owners. They also said the tree would be staying "because we like trees". Oh well, I've done my bit I suppose.
  11. You fellas will never end up with big muscles like me.
  12. Totally agree now Matty, but didn't get as far as you. Mine hasn't got a lighter on it either. Gutted.
  13. Damn that's what I've been doing wrong. Thought I had been breaking a lot of stuff recently....
  14. No climbing kit. Bit of snapped branch tied to rope with a few granny knots. Proper old school.
  15. Get onto a good physio as soon as you can, mate. As stated, bones heal. It's the soft tissue stuff you want to watch. Physio might want you exercising it sooner than you think. Good luck.
  16. Are there signs of bleeding canker Bob?
  17. Nice trees David. Good find.
  18. Do stumps count? I can get some pics of trees I viciously topped way back in my learning curve. They might make good examples of how not to do it. The customer was king then. Pollarded Birch, anyone?
  19. I have a spare seat mate. PM me an offer if you are interested.
  20. Your final pruning cut is very important in this case. It should be about 1" from the ground.
  21. Great bit of kit. Mine's always with me now. Not always, obviously. Even I'm not that sad. I am going to invent one for women instead of chainsaws.
  22. Rob was taking some. I'll try and get hold of them. Job went sweet as.
  23. Put on loads of f*** off gold rings and chains, dye your face red and pretend you can't read or write. You can do whatever you want then without any fear of interference from the authorities. Jobs a good 'un.
