  1. No further news, can't get hold of bloke who 'broke' the story, nowt on bbc news search. How come any donut who messes up while attempting suicide by chainsaw is automatically a 'tree surgeon'?
  2. This is very important to me too, 'cos I've got that Reynauds Syndrome thingy and my fingers go white and useless when cold. Where do you get the Irwin gloves Ed? Like the sound of the yachting gloves, but at what price? Are Sealskins any good? I have a cracking pair of battery powered gloves, but you can't actually do anything whilst wearing them! Spent last winter shoving those throwaway heat pads into the more thermal grippy rubber/string back gloves, which worked most cold days. If it was cold and wet I went home.
  3. 18 months ago I would have put this down to a case of 'arb shite', but I've seen the pics! Fair play Dave, but not for everyone!
  4. Early 2010 in the Alps looking good if I can barter Rich's rates down... Alp D'Huez rocks - Going Underground! Looking forward to pics even if I don't make it. Ski/Board sub forum? Steve? Steve, get that silicone breasted Yank arb groupie off you. Stiff upper lip man.
  5. LOL. Don't forget 66 hanging from harness mate!
  6. 2 pages of the thread to read, and I totally agree.
  7. Larry, If you are the 'Per Mer Per Terram' bloke I had a (few?) beer with at Jonesies show, how are you doing fella? Stretch Airs are the ONLY way to go. Pissed about with Hiflex for years. They are great, but never last a year. SA's cost more but worth it. Keep in touch Bro.
  8. I've told him to get some facial tats and change his name to Luke 'The Muss'. Cook the man some f***in' eggs! Would that help?
  9. One thing (actually amongst others) I learnt on the NPTC chipper course (which I thought would be a big yawn suitable only for cretins) was how much I had been over-tightening the blade bolts. Massive difference. Decent torque wrench costs a few quid, but money well spent IMO. Anyone else noticed how the older you get the more interested you get involved in the mechanics/engine/servicing side of things? I'm 41 next month. Fire away old guard. F**k off young pups.
  10. To be honest I think this playground conversation should stop now. We are all built/climb differently. Reports all say they are both great harnesses. Try both. Choose the best one for you. Game over. Thanks.
  11. This boy doesn't climb though Drew. He looks a bit like Arnold with a pumpkin for a head!
  12. Seen both Thompson fights, but I think this one will be worth watching. I reckon Haye will have to jump up to land a head shot! Paccio fight should be a good 'un alright.
  13. Does anyone know what time the David v. Goliath fight is actually on on Saturday night? I've heard 9pm, but don't want to put up with the usual Sky malarky where they talk sh**e for hours, the fight actually starts at 3am and I'm too drunk to remember who won! Also need to persuade the outlaws to go out for the night so me and my Saturday boy can comandeer their Sky. Also, can anyone with Sky get the pay-per-view fight? I'm not sure about how all that jazz works. Cheers.
  14. Anyone know where it is on Freesat? Or is it not?
  15. Which insurance co. was it Dave? Might give them a bell tomorrow and get a quote for my truck. I will tell them it will be driven by a 15 year old with no licence so I can have a few sherbets. See how that sits with them. The hypocritical ****s.
  16. Stihl themselves don't class the 192T as a pro saw, which is why it is not marketed in the UK. It may be ok for amateurs to wield a topper in Johnny Foreigner land, but it's simply not done over here, Old Boy...... Looked at one in France this year. Was tempted (price), but it was clearly built with some of the same components they use on the kiddies saw with the ball bearing chain.
  17. Nice blue sky pics High Scale. Phenom, you say that tree was in a 'hogging' car park. Do you not mean 'dogging'?
  18. There's rain and there's rain. I'll climb in the rain if I have to, but I won't climb in the rain. My lack of ability to write words in italics may make this difficult to understand, but I'm sure you all know what I mean....
  19. My Saturday groundie is heading out to NZ at Christmas, North Shore, Auckland. He will be looking for work in the New Year. Anyone know of any companies in the area that it would be worth him approaching? Also any tips on making him more employable? I'm being his computer bitch at the mo because his firewall at work won't let him on 'the talk'. Cheers.
  20. Erm... You don't need any equipment to climb 10m up a tree. Just as a concept, of course.....
  21. I'll come down and do the digging mate. You can pay me in cider.
