  1. I nicked your tyre idea last year Stevie, and it's a boost for stuff up to about 18" dia for sure. This is overcomplicated pish though. Just adjust your stance a bit for each swing. Didn't like the axe either. Gransfors is king!
  2. That's why I'm better off just pressing 'tip' and leaving with the cash! I always state that the quoted price is just for tipping, but I am happy to stack for extra cash/sexual favours.
  3. Tried this for the last couple of days. Doesn't seem as smooth as the VT, but locks every time. I was becoming more and more aware that I was 'dressing' the VT to make it lock before commiting my weight, which wouldn't be pretty if I slipped and didn't have time to dress it. My rope is filthy and worn at the mo, and I can see this hitch (with Hitchclimber) being a real winner with newer/cleaner rope.
  4. Try this 3 times a week Dave. I didn't lose any weight, but you should see the muscles in my right arm.....[ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=L_fCqg92qks]YouTube - Eric Prydz - Call On Me[/ame]
  5. Throwbag into the top, send a rope up and hang two of you off the rope. If it doesn't shift any further you could climb it slowly cutting and chucking as you go. With some weight off it might even start to sit up. If it does shift, you probably won't need to worry about the shed and greenhouse any more...... Good luck with it whatever. I'll watch the 'stunt fell' thread with interest.

If you were serious about the gloves!

What do you use when it gets chilly?

    Take care man,

  7. Both Showa Thermos and Tegeras from Yve Clark rotated as and when work for me. On really cold/wet days I slip in a one-use heat pack. May try Sealskinz this winter as well. Also fancy a pair of large heated mitts to shove my frozen hands into now and again! What did you use on exercise when you were in Dave?
  8. I can understand the point here, but you can't live in fear of these thieves. As Jake says, Google Places is very popular. I don't get visits at home anyway. If you are that bothered, just move the pin to the centre of the local sewage works.
  9. I'm in. When does the arm-wrestling fit in?
  10. Get some AP Deano. That's a bit worrying to say the least. I would have thought it was rated to 17 stone at least......
  11. Alright mate, cheers for the comments!

Dutchie (my yellow bitch) was from a one-off litter my mates bitch had, and the black bitch, Hennie, is my in-laws dog, and the breeder has since died, so I'm not much help I'm afraid!

I shoot a fair bit, and could ask around if you know what you want and when.

They take over your life though, man!

  12. Sorry, was indeed a MC. Yew was yesterdays, pics didn't load from that, too many Stellas and not enough sleep. Yew was a small limb on a barn (which I think had neen nudged with a Telehandler....Hope I didn't tip the Yew chips in the horse paddock.... James, takedown week on Monday most likely.
  13. Keep it coming Ace. Where was the last footage shot mate?
  14. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. I have all the answers....
  15. Failed stem was 20" diameter at 'pruning' cut.
  16. The Tree had laid a stem across the roof of the famous Mermaid Inn in Rye. Real brain teaser (and pant-browner). Still windy today, but dry and much more settled. Climbed the main stem, decent anchor, and two ropes installed as tether lines. Out onto stem, nibbled away till it was about to go (about 2" left holding at the base, then tensioned tether lines off truck hitch. Final cut, ropes then held (whew!), and, clear of building, chog, retension line lower down, chog, repeat etc. till finish. Owner is in Africa, wants to get back before agreeing to takedown, but there is no other safe option. Last shot is 5-tonne ratchet strap left there to appease hotel management (RHS stem looks favourite to fail very soon, over their car park). Shame, but there we are. 'Stone Cold' Polish Irish Muslim Steve Woodnuts running the rigging and multiple waggoners hitches. Roast beef sandwiches and all the trimmings courtesey of The Mermaid. You couldn't work for nicer folks (and it's not even their tree!). Good day. Missed shooting, mind.....
  17. Good stuff James. Ballsy in that wind, some pro rigging, and your saw is sharp as ever. Get yourself a pint amigo.
  18. Bugger. Oh well, it was good while it lasted....
  19. Since we are all here, Stihl or Husky?
  20. Guide for 90% on here. You'll know when you're in the 10%......
  21. Just appeared this morning! Without your advice fellas I would have cocked around with it more and more until they kicked me off Google altogether, so thanks once again. The 24 hrs think is BS though. Good job I'm massively patient.....
