  1. Much better to get on, and has others have said team up on bigger jobs. There is one guy round here whose face contorts with rage whenever he sees another tree firm. Let him have a heart attack, I always smile and wave at him! Does he think he can do all the work in Kent?
  2. Nutter. I wouldn't have rigged anything off that! Bet you're glad they aren't all that shape James.
  3. Without a doubt. Say if you type in 'tree surgery in xxxxx' The top results all seem to be sites offering to find a tree surgeon, rather than a site belonging to a tree surgeon. Yell.com are up there with the worst offenders, which won't surprise anyone.
  4. Nicely done. You would need a new ladder if one of those chunks had landed on it though! Always best to move the ladder out of the drop zone as soon as you can, speaking from experience....
  5. I did get it Tommy, I was being sarky! What's got 6 eyes and can't see? 3 blind mice.
  6. No licence needed to buy a dummy launcher and .22 blanks, but I've never seen a shoulder mounted launcher firing a dummy that small in the UK.
  7. That worked a treat! The only ones I've seen over here are short, one-handed versions, which would be more inaccurate. She is hot!
  8. That is, they have been for me. Insurance companies are a law unto themselves.
  9. It's utter madness. Currently with CIS, but change nearly every year. My premium always goes up even though the vehicle is worth less, I'm a year older and have yet another years no-claims. One of my most lucrative days every year is insurance renewal time. I spend the day ringing different companies, sometimes talking to sexy-sounding girls whilst drinking loads of tea. I generally save a couple of hundred quid on the renewal quote, so can treat myself to a decent bottle of wine and a steak dinner. Wish I had to re-insure every month to be honest. CIS, NFU, Direct Line are generally OK.
  10. John who took that picture of you in your avatar shot? It's great!
  11. Class Mark. Tommy - I don't get it?
  12. We all know who's providing the white jetwash mate....
  13. Well said Les. Even if you obviously haven't been for a pint in Newcastle recently! £2.50 for a bottle of broon in my local back home, mind! Jonesies price seems nearer the mark to me, and I know how good his lads are in the workshop. Gustharts in Northumberland are the same. You will save money because their lads are quick and have seen it all before. £50/hour? Depends how much and how well they can do it in an hour.
  14. Semantics, pure semantics! True, mind.
  15. 1) Great vid and editing. 2) You are allowed to use two hands on the saw. 3) You could have felled it safely from the ground. BS about damaging twigs on other trees doesn't come into it compared to the value of a human life. 4) Hope the wedding went well. 5) You have a set of stones on you!
  16. I know this one. If your house is worth less than £100k it's 3'. £100-£150k - 4' £150-£200k - 5' £200-£400 - 6' £400-£999k - 7' £1mil+ - As high as you like
  17. Fair dos for having a play around with it Rob. It's experimentation like this that has evolved the smoother, more ergonomical systems in arb that are benefitting a lot of us today. Especially old gits like me! BTW, who's the hottest month on the calendar?
  18. Aye, great shot that. What system do you climb on X? Don't like the sound of icy ropes much, however good those gloves are!
  19. How so Dave? I find Stihl trousers fall apart when you look at a thistle, where I've put my Stretch Airs through the mill for 18 months with only a bust zip to show for it. And that was only because of my massive...... ego!
