  1. Syc takedown from today. Really enjoyable job, rig-tastic! Stubs are longer than they should be 'cos my spikes are blunt....
  2. Wish I had my own stalker. Noone ever wants to pretend they are part of my crappy little outfit. It's so unfair.
  3. Get to bed then. Ride 'em cowboy! (Better use something with your track record, like!)
  4. Cheers mate. One will probably be my lot, but can I claim the benefits for your two? It's been a tough month! Sorry Dean, very interesting thread.
  5. Bollocks. You just love the YMCA look!
  6. Stretch Airs mate. You know you're worth it!
  7. Lee, I will jump back into this thread this once because you have made some good points my brother, Mothers eyebrows. I will point out that you are probably not on the best forum to come up with pro-traveller arguments! For the record I spent the happiest years of my life living in a caravan working for Alfred Mac on the roads, but decided it wasn't the best way to bring up my family. My choice. Yes, every government we have wants to control us. I vote every 4 years then get on with my life. If I really can't stand it any more, I will do some serious travelling....
  8. In all fairness mate, it will end up being a good experience for you. Learn from it. Disagreements on spec on a big job could cost you a bit more than a days sweat for f-all. John Russells advice is, as usual, spot on.
  9. Give the bloke a chance. You need one hand to hold onto the tree with if you don't use a harness.
  10. Lee, they were complaining they had nowhere to go. If they don't want free land, and have means and money, why not buy land with planning? And if they want land with planning, why not buy a house? They call themselves travellers, but all they seem to want to do is build permanent structures illegally then whinge about it afterwards. We have laws in this country. If they don't like them, perhaps they should travel abroad? I agree with you about the prejudice thread, but people become prejudiced for reasons. Like having stuff nicked all the time. They don't help themselves. It might be the case of them getting tarred with the same brush because of the behaviour of a minority, but that's not my experience of it. End of my comments on it. The programme has got boring already. Last nights episode felt like watching a repeat.
  11. 'It's so unfair. We have nowhere to go'. Same thing happened to me. Couldn't believe the government wouldn't just hand over some free land. I had to buy a house.
  12. Cheers Robert, tea on keyboard now!
  13. Was thinking exactly the same mate. Do they go to a shop called 'Junior Whore'?
  14. Cracking shots there mate. Big tree.
  15. Cracking mullet. Seems like a nice lad actually. Least he's prepared to stand up for himself on his own, quite a rare trait in my experience....
  16. You will always have more accidents with smaller saws because they are used by more people more often. I agree with Matty that a big saw doesn't respect PPE that much, and with Mesterh that if you do have an accident with a big saw it will probably involve much blood. I find ringing up with a big saw in the summer pretty safe, though. I normally wear a factor of 15 or higher.
  17. Agreed. I tend to do a bit less one-handing with my 66.
  18. I decided how I wanted my patio/lawn/borders to look and even did some sketches of it. Could I call myself a landscape architect? Surely I would have as much right as someone with a Spear and Jackson saw and a set of ladders has to call themselves a tree surgeon? Ignore me, I'm still bitter about the MILF thing.
  19. Those Oak limbs will Bart Simpson up quite nicely! That Syc sure was shot. Fair play. I bet your saw felt sharp!
  20. I want one now after seeing that. Thanks for posting X. You could have pushed that hollow pine up the bank with it last week Ian.
  21. Sounds good mate. I'd like to give it a go, maybe on the towering 4' of privet/chain link mix collapsed hedges I seem to pricing at the moment....
  22. I always thought it looked like the plate would dig in and sink, especially on wet ground?
