  1. How much did they quote you for a pair Jake? They used to do mine, and always made a good job of them, but the postage costs were a killer.
  2. Remember Nick, the young lads with rusty pick ups who still live at home love pricing behind us....
  3. And of course they will season the wood before dreaming of selling it as logs....
  4. Funny how they never fancy level odds....
  5. Goes quicker every year doesn't it? We seem to start later and later though. Bloody climate change! Last day out today, cocks only, dogs are going mental as I type this!
  6. Hope you kept the sign embedded in the tree. Be worth a few quid that. Rather you than me.
  7. Damn. That blonde wig didn't fool you for a second....
  8. All the time. But it's because I have taken too much off because the customer demanded it and no amount of persuasion would make them change their mind (and I'm too fat to get out to the tips!) Nice to redress the balance! Beeches are pretty sensitive anyway, so less is definately more.
  9. £369 + VAT seems pricey at first, but I reckon it would pay for itself on the first few jobs if you had a few biggies coming up with long drag outs. I've heard a rumour that Dean Lofthouse has ordered one to carry his gonads around in after todays stunt fell....
  10. Love it Deano. Bet the customer was out....
  11. Fast, but dangerous. On knotty stuff you end up with fingers like spoons.
  12. It's a quiet time of year for us at the minute, and logs seemed to have stopped selling, so I could do with filling in a couple of days a week. Myself (and groundy if required), Transit tipper and TW125 chipper (or any combination of these) available for hire at reasonable rates anywhere in Kent or East Sussex. Happy to run back to mine with chips or cord. I climb if you are absolutely desperate, but I'm quite rough, and slow. PM for rates or general abuse.
  13. Agreed. Excellent for building wrist strength.
  14. I find it too much hassle with noise complaints. To be fair, if someone fired up a chipper outside my house on a Sunday morning it wouldn't be on for very long.
  15. Youtube - Redneck tree topping
  16. Is that some domino action in the second pic Ian?
  17. Great pic Lancstree. This isn't one of my best, but I've found out how to nick still pics from video footage on the iPhone, so you can choose your optimum moment. Pics from last weeks syc removal.
